Install and configure DB2 UDB new releases, upgrades, and patches.

Perform database maintenance activities such as backup, reorg, runstats.

Analyze DB2 UDB Event Monitor information, physical design, performance

characteristics of tablespaces, physical I/O rates, and table access activities.

High availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) experience with DB2 HADR

concepts and connectivity. Assisting with the creation and modification of primary database storage struc-

tures (tablespaces) and primary objects (tables, views, indexes)

Implement data security guidelines while making data available to those autho-

rized to have access.

Changing instance level and database level configuration parameters for data-

base concurrency, authentication, performance and allowing remote clients ac-

cessing server.

Provide 24X7 on-call support to troubleshoot issues with the Production sched-

ule. Database utility experience including reorg, runstats, rebind, export, import,

load, auto-load, backup, restore and recover database utilities.

Database backup and recovery experience with online full and incremental

backups, online and offline transaction log archiving, restore and roll-forward

(including redirected restore), and recover database utilities.

Their two core business activities are pharmacy-led health and beauty retailingand pharmaceutical wholesaling. Alliance Boots operate more than 3,200 health

and beauty retail stores in nine countries, of which just under 3,000 have a

pharmacy. We are responsible for handling all the stores in information in UK

region.

Responsibilities:

Database (DB2 UDB) maintenance and support.

Administration of more than 40 DB2 UDB database servers. Database creation as per user request.

Worked heavily with data movement utilities IMPORT, LOAD, and

based technologies, common data database and a search engine that

provide better end-user experience. Elements of the proposed solution

for CNRMS use IBM Web Sphere, DB2 and Tivoli products.
