Is there a need for aXtraHand’s Safe Patient Handling Equipment?

We think so.

Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2015Chart 20

Nursing assistants had the highest rate of MSDs among these occupations with 200 cases per 10,000 full- time workers as well as the highest numberof MSD cases in 2014.

Out of 365,580 MSD (Musculoskeletal Disorders) Cases in 2014 – Nursing Assistants had the highest incidence of injuries.

Back injury costs range from $5,000 - $100,000. 12% of nurses leave the profession each year due to back injuries.Over 52% of nurses suffer from chronic back pain.

Why not use the IV Pole that’s on the wheelchair or stretcher?

Transferring bags and pumps from the patients IV Pole to the IV Pole on a wheelchair or stretcher can lead toinadvertent changes in a pump settings, as well as twisting of the tubing. Which in turn could poorly effect the patients health and well-being.

Time may also be a factor. Nurses are primarily the ones that are required to move all pumps and bags from one IV Pole to another. A transporter will have to wait for a nurse to make those changes prior to moving a patient.

With our Clamping Systems – the patients IV Pole stays with the patient at all times.

What are aXtraHand’s safe patient handling products?

Our products are grouped into what we call Clamping Systemsor what some might call an IV Tow.

Our Clamping Systems connect hospitals current patient transport equipment (wheelchair, stretcher, bed, gurney, rollators, etc…) to the patients IV Pole.

Our Clamping Systems are made to be: • affordable,• easy to install,• simple to use,• easy to store away,• lightweight,• helpful in reducing patient transport time and• Most importantly to reduce injuries to patients as well as transport staff/nurses

Our best seller is… The CH-1003: Wheelchair to IV Pole Clamp

The CH-1003: Wheelchair to IV Pole Clamping System attaches easily to hospitals existing wheelchairs and their IV Poles.

The Clamping System enables the transporter to focus on moving the patient in a wheelchair without having to strain themselves while holding on to the IV Pole.

• Decreases wrist, arm and back strain• Attaches to either handle• Decreasing injuries to nurses, transporting personnel and patients• Accepts standard IV Pole diameters between ¾” to 1 ¼”• 9 adjustable locking positions• 240 degree adjustable radius• Safe and secure• Made in the USA

A great option for large facilities is… The CH-1003QR: Wheelchair to IV Pole Clamp with Quick Release

CH-1003QR: Wheelchair to IV Pole Clamping System w/Quick Release PinThe same quality, ease of use and safety as the regular CH-1003 but with a bit more versatility for being used in larger facilities with hundreds of wheelchairs. For example: They have 100 wheelchairs that they would like to incorporate into their Safety-Quality program. They also have 30 designated personnel/or departments who will be utilizing these particular wheelchairs. We would suggest purchasing a CH-1003QR System that includes: 30 of the CH-1003: Wheelchair to IV Pole Clamping System (minus

Locking Bolt and Anchors) 30 of the CH-1003-E: Quick Release Pin 100 of the CH-1003-A: Anchors

• Each wheelchair would be fitted with an Anchor, • Each person/department would have their own Clamp along with the Quick Release Pin, • The Clamps can be put on and taken off as needed, the only part that would stay on the wheelchair permanently would be the Anchor.

For cleaning and maintenance… The CH-2000: IV to IV Pole Clamp

The CH-2000: IV to IV Pole Clamping System was designed for maintenance in mind. No more struggling to move multiple IV Poles at one time. They can simply attach the CH-2000 to the IV Poles they wish to move and they can bundle them or make a train.

Transport multiple IV Poles from one area to another in a safe and efficient manner.

The IV Pole Locking Clamps can hold standard IV Pole’s ranging from ¾” to 1 ¼”.

Similar to the CH-1003 – it has the same IV Pole Locking Clamp on both ends.

When attached to the 2 IV Poles there is a 20” span from pole to pole.

Made in the U.S.A.
