overviewSuccessfully blending advanced ergonomic principles with sublime good looks is not an easy task. It takes time. And a vast amount of experience. It involves Design teams that are passionate about creating an item of sheer beauty and function. And Production counter-parts who translate theory into practice with meticulous attention to detail.

Which is why the Axia Air really is quite special.

The combination of a sleek, flexible and breathable mesh back with the patented Axia ergonomic mechanism is a true celebration of both style and substance. As comfortable as it is visually appealing, the Air effortlessly elevates workplace productivity whilst facilitating a distinctly understated and elegant aesthetic.

Our entire ethos is centred around promoting a better, more enjoyable and ergonomically correct sitting experience. The addition of the Air to the already established Axia range maintains this core, fundamental belief, whilst taking on a more contemporary and design-led persuasion.

1. Mesh BackBoth flexible and breathable, the agile structure provides an ergonomically superior level of support to all users. Woven to our own specific design, the understated black aesthetic enhances contemporary credentials.

2. Seat PadElementary in maintenance, the clip on/off function-ality can help extend the whole life cost of owning an Air. The vast range of alternate cushion options include memory foam, coccyx cut out and extra large versions.

3. ArmsFixed to the static section of the seat mechanism, our arm rests do not move with the chair when it is in a dynamic mode – thus acting as an extension to the workstation and providing excellent support to the arms.

4. Height AdjustmentThe range of a standard Axia gas lift should com-fortably suit 95% of the population, but where us-ers fall outside of this boundary, taller and shorter are available.

5. Dynamic AdjustmentThe foundation of our entire principle is that the pelvis should be well supported throughout the sitting experience. The patented Axia mechanism facilitates this required ergonomic reinforcement by reclining the user correctly.

6. Back RestThe smooth movement of the back rest is control-led by gas cylinders, ensuring maximum comfort for the user. Available with the option of a fixed or independently adjustable back angle, the Air truly

7. Tension ControlTo ensure the user remains balanced and well sup-ported whilst seated, Air features a centrally located tension control. Traditionally, tension is controlled by a wound spring, however, we incorporate a moving fulcrum principle.

8. Pelvic Support The Air features an adjustable pelvic support band as standard. Designed to enhance the both lower back and pelvic position, it works in unison with the reclined seat angle to provide the best ergonomic support.

9. Seat SlideIt is also possible to increase the depth through an in-tegral seat slide function. By offering a generous addi-tion of 100mm to the seat depth, the Axia Air ensures there is adequate range to suit all users.

10. Dual Sided LeversWhether left or right handed, the operation of each lever is equally as accessible from both sides of the chair. Having this dual system of adjustment allows a better interaction with the chair, regardless of dominant hand preference.

11. CastorsIt is important to select the correct castor type depend-ant upon the type of surface it will be situated on. The standard castor supplied with each Axia Air model is a 60mm carpet option, but many options are available.

12. User GuideTo enable safe and comprehensive operation of the Axia Air, each model will be supplied with a full User Guide explaining the functionality and operation of every ad-justable element. In addition to this document, a series of video instructions are also available on our website www.bma-ergonomics.com

Thinking green and maintaining sustainable business practises are ingrained deep within the BMA working culture. From responsibly sourcing materials and managing our supply chain, to designing products that can be easily, cost-effectively and rapidly taken apart at the end of their useful life – environmental concerns are always at the heart of what we do.

Many of our products use a large percentage of recycled materials – an Axia Air chair is made up of 59% reused componentry - demonstrat-ing our commitment to the environment whilst still producing an industry leading product. By adopting a cradle to cradle approach in our processes, we have proven that green ethics and corporate success are not mutually exclusive

designed for disassemblyDesigning products with consideration for what happens to them after the end of their useful life has always been a carefully planned operation here at BMA. The ethical principles that we incorporate into our seating have been industry leading for many years, and we are continually evolving our design concepts and manufacturing processes to maximise product lifespan.

Our award winning Axia range of task chairs are built on a modular system, a concept which has many functional and environmental benefits.

Most fundamental, the chassis of the chair has been designed in such a manner as to ac-commodate simple interchanging of peripheral componentry.

This same component system is then crucial to our disassembly process. Being designed in such a modular fashion enables our dedicated dismantling line to quickly and efficiently seg-regate the materials into the relevant recycling bays. And, of course, the whole chair is almost 100% recyclable.

What happens to your chair once it comes to the end of its useful working life? The fo-cus on this question is ever more prevalent in a society which is increasingly concerned about potential environmental impacts.

Well, we would like to buy our Axia back please.

BMA Nomique have championed a scheme in which we will procure your old task seat-ing back for a pre-defined, residual amount of money.

We are confident that our products will stand the test of time and do not necessarily have to be dismantled and recycled once you are done with them – when we receive them back we will repair, refurbish and upcycle your old Axia for additional use.

Our buy-back scheme takes into account the whole life costs of a product and is de-signed to ensure that we offer our customers excellent products, excellent value for money and excellent warranties.
