On the basis of Article 47 of its Statute,Diplomas or Certificates of Appreciation areawarded by the Society of Medical Bio-chemists of Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) toits members, medical biochemists, and otherindividuals or legal entities, in acknowledge-ment of their contribution to the promotionof medical biochemistry as a profession anda scientific discipline. Foreign experts whohave contributed to the development andwork of the Society or the promotion ofmedical biochemistry and laboratory medi-cine are awarded Honorary Diplomas by theSociety.

Before 1998, the first DIPLOMAS OFTHE SMBY were presented to: Prof. DrPavle Trpinac, Primarius Tatjana Plećaš-Drljača (on the occasion of the 40th anniver-sary of the Society of Medical Biochemists ofYugoslavia, she was also awarded an Hon-orary Diploma of the SMBY) and PrimariusRužica Mašić.

After the Federal Republic of Yugoslaviawas formed, in 1994 Diplomas wereawarded to Prof. Dr Jovan Kavarić, Primar-ius Milica Marković, Primarius IvankaJanković, Primarius Verica Vuković andMag. Pharm. Jovan Janković.

In 1995, Diplomas were awarded toProf. Dr Nada Majkić-Singh and PrimariusOlivera Janković.

In 1996, Diplomas were presented toProf. Dr Jelena Djurdjević, PrimariusZagorka Subotić, Pri ma rius Melanija Nadjand Prof. Dr Miloš Aleksić.

Certificates of Appreciation wereawarded to Primarius Bosa VUJOŠEVIĆ(1994), Med. Biochem. Specialist LidijaVUČUROVIĆ (posthumously) and Mag.Pharm. Nadežda SIMIĆ (1995).

In 1996, Certificates of Appreciation ofthe Society were presented to: PrimariusVera MANDIĆ-ZEČEVIĆ, Danica VASIĆ,Primarius Marija DJUROVIĆ, PrimariusLeposava MILUTINOVIĆ, Primarius OlgaZVENIGORODSKI, Primarius RadmilaHAJ DUKOVIĆ, Primarius Mirka ILIĆ, DrSc. In 1995, Certificates of Appreciationwere awarded to the following companies:Technofarm-Randox, Makler, Medifarm,ICN Galenika, Jugo laboratorija, Jugolek,Spektar, Bankom, Tacon-Group, Yunycom,Medinic, Sanitarija, Serbolab, Zastava-Ju-gomedika and Media-Zemun.

In 1996, a Certificate of Appreciationwas presented to the Institute of BloodTransfusion of the Republic of Serbia.

In 2000, Diplomas were awarded to theMedical Faculty in Niš, Medical Faculty inBelgrade, Clinical Center of Serbia and thecompanies Libertas, Yunycom, Technofarm– Randox, AVL, Makler.

Also in 2010, on the occasion of leavingthe SMBS, the long-term secretary of the So-

ciety Primarius Olivera JANKOVIĆ wasagain awarded the Diploma of the Society.

The Diplomas of the SMBS wereawarded in 2012 on the occasion of MaklerDays and the company’s anniversary toLjubomir ŠTRBAC, head of the companyMakler, and to the company Makler.

On 9 September 2014, at the openingceremony of the 19th Congress of MedicalBiochemists of Serbia, a Certificate of Ap-preciation of the Society was given to thecompany Vicor, as a donator to the Fund»Magistra Milica Marković«.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversaryof the Society of Medical Biochemists of Ser-bia and Montenegro (formerly Yugoslavia),on 10 June 2005 the Society awarded anHonorary Diploma to the International Fed-eration of Clinical Chemistry and Labora-tory Medicine (IFCC) and the Forum of theEuropean Societies of Clinical Chemistryand Labo ratory Medicine (FESCC) in recog-nition and gratitude for their significant con-tribution to the work and development ofthe Society of Medical Bio chemists of Serbiaand Montenegro. On the same occasion, theSociety was reciprocally presented with aDiploma of the IFCC.

On the occasion of the 17th Congress ofMedical Biochemistry and Laboratory Med-icine and the 6th EFCC Symposium for theBalkan Region, as well as to mark the 55th

anniversary of the Society of Medical Bio-chemists of Serbia, in September 2010, dur-ing the opening ceremony, Prof. Victor BLA-TON was awarded an Honorary Diplomaof the Society as the highest form of recog-nition for his contribution to the develop-ment of clinical chemistry and laboratorymedicine in Serbia and the Balkan Regionand beyond these borders, within the entireprofessional community.

An Honorary Diploma was alsoawarded in 2012 to Prof. Dr Stojan DANEV,for his contribution to the formation andwork of the Balkan Clinical Laboratory Fed-eration, of which he was the first chairman.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the So-ciety of Medical Biochemists of Serbia, on 15May 2015, the following honors and diplo-mas were awarded: an Honorary Diplomawas given to Simone ZÉRAH for her activecontribution to the promotion of the profes-sion in Europe.

On the occasion of its 60th anniversary,Honorary Diplomas of the Society of Med-ical Biochemists of Serbia were presented tothe International Federation of ClinicalChemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC)and the European Federation of ClinicalChemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM).Diplomas were awarded to Tomica MILO -SAVLJEVIĆ, former Minister of Health ofthe Republic of Serbia and the followingmembers of the Society, for their contribu-tion within the Society and the profession:Nada MAJKIĆ-SINGH, Svetlana IGNJA -TO VIĆ, Mirka ILIĆ, Radmila OBRE NO -VIĆ, Ljiljana KANDIĆ, Aleksandra POŠTIĆ,Živoradka DACIN, Zorica ŠUMARAC, Tat-jana VODNIK, Velibor CANIĆ, VidosavaDJORDJEVIĆ, Snežana JOVIČIĆ, MarijanaDAJAK, Jelena OŠAP, Janko PEJOVIĆ, VeraCVETKOVIĆ, Miloš JELIĆ, Sofija DJUR -DJE VIĆ and Vidosav MAJSTOROVIĆ.
