Stacy graduated in 2004 with a degree in quantita-tive economics and was commissioned an Ensign intothe United States Navy where she had planned acareer in the supply corps.

In 2005, the Finley family and the Naval Academyestablished the Ens. Stacy M. Finley Memorial Award, presented annually to that senior member of thewomen’s soccer team whose courage, will to win, dedi-cation and love of her teammates will forever endure.

The inaugural recipient of the Ens. Stacy M. FinleyMemorial Award was team captain Lindsay Adlam, afour-year letterwinner who played alongside Stacy fortwo years. Meggie Curran, who wore Finley’s No. 14for two years, was the 2006 recipient of the award. Itwas Finley who served as Curran’s mentor in 2004when Curran was a freshman.

In each of the past two seasons, Navy’s team captains, Julie Reynolds (a three-time all-league mid-fielder) and Kari Weniger (a two-time Academic All-American) have taken home the honor.

ARMY-NAVY SERIESArmy-Navy is one of the most

storied rivalries in all of college and professional athletics. Its roots dateback to Nov. 29, 1890, when the two military institutions squared off on thegridiron with Navy taking the inauguralmeeting, 24-0.

While the annual Army-Navy footballgame is revered by many as one of thepremier college football games, it is justone of the many athletic competitionscontested on a yearly basis between thetwo schools.

Twenty-three of Navy’s 32 varsitysports battle Army each year in StarCompetitions - predetermined contestsbetween Army and Navy with the winnerreceiving a gold star to affix near the "N"for his/her letter sweater for each suchvictory.

There is only one Star Competitionper sport despite the number of timesthe two programs face one another during a given season.

2009 NAVY WOMEN’S SOCCER

On Nov. 9, 2001, the United States Naval Academydedicated the new Glenn Warner Soccer Facility prior tothe Navy men's soccer game against Bucknell.

The $4.5 million Glenn Warner Soccer Facility is aprime example of one of the Naval Academy's latestaccomplishments, while raising the bar of excellence.

One of the finest college soccer facilities in thenation, the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility was financedentirely by private contributions, designed by the archi-tectural firm of Cochran, Stephenson & Donkervoet andconstructed by Whiting-Turner, Inc. The 16,300-square-foot facility houses the Naval Academy's men's andwomen's varsity soccer teams.

The facility is named after Navy’s legendary men’scoach Glenn Warner, who guided the Midshipmen tonine NCAA Tournament appearances, four Final Fourappearances, one national championship, 28 winningseasons and a record of 243-65-31 during his 30-yeartenure. In a stretch from 1962-67, Warner's teams puttogether a string of 48 regular-season victories without adefeat (70-6-3) and qualified for five-straight NCAATournaments. Warner, who produced 26 All-Americans,was recently inducted into the Soccer Hall of Fame andis a recipient of soccer's top award, The Honor Award.

The cornerstone of the project is the Anders Hall ofHonor, made possible by Maj. General William A.Anders, USAFR, and family, in appreciation of Warnerand to recognize the leadership, character and commitment of former Naval Academy soccer players.

The Anders Hall of Honor features 13 trophy casesand display areas of cherry cabinetry that depict Navy'sstoried soccer history and tradition. From former Navysoccer players who achieved excellence in military service and leadership, to past Navy All-Americans andteam captains, the "Hall of Honor" pays tribute to formerMidshipmen and their military, civilian and athleticaccomplishments. Designed by Murphy & Orr Exhibits, the 60-foot diameter lobby also features Navy's fivemen's soccer National Championships (1931, '43, '44,'45, '64). Warner's one and only unbeaten squad cap-tured the 1964 National Championship. The floor of thelobby is terrazzo and features a 15-foot Naval Academy

crest in the center. The Anders Hall of Honor gives thecoaching staff a place to meet, greet and entertainrecruits and midshipmen candidates, whileexperiencing the rich tradition of Navy soccer.

The home team wing highlights Navy's commitmentto soccer and the future with two spacious team lockerrooms, coaches offices and locker rooms, a fully-equipped training room, laundry and equipment rooms. The 1,300-square-foot men's and women's team lockerrooms are equipped with custom-made wooden lockersfor each athlete, a video projector and screen for viewingand analyzing of practice and game film. The 375-square-foot training room contains training tables, mod-ern whirlpool, ultrasound and physical therapy equip-ment, and provides Navy's scholar-athletes with themost complete and advanced treatment in the country.Five equipment storage spaces provide 600-square feetfor storage space and laundry service.

The visiting team wing of 4,300-square feet containstwo spacious locker rooms, officials’ locker room, ticketoffice, public restrooms and a concessions area.

The facility has a 120-yards by 75-yards flat bermuda-grass playing surface and a modern drainage system, allowing the field to withstand heavy rain. Astate-of-the-art, scoreboard, funded by the Class of1983, was erected at one end of the field. The stadiumseats approximately 2,500 fans and provides fans withoptimal viewing with room for further expansion.
