Course audience

This training programme is intended for those persons in the public sector and NGOs working on EU funded projects and programmes, or those seeking such employment. This could include:

programme implementation officials within ministries;

EU funding co-ordinators within departments and public sector entities;

project leaders;

other public sector officials engaged in the management of EU funded projects.

Entry requirements

Individuals should have good communication and comprehension skills in English.

Candidates are not required to have any previous exposure to the public sector and EU funds management, but any such experience will facilitate the candidate’s learning experience.

Course Schedule

Module 1: The 2014 - 2020 framework for EU Funds ECTS:1

Module 2: EU funded Project Application ECTS:1

Module 3: Procurement for EU funded projects ECTS: 1

Module 4: Managing EU funded projects effectively ECTS: 1

Module 5: Financial management, reporting and audits of EU-Projects ECTS: 1

4 hour sessions are held weekly

A CPD Award Qualification accredited at MQF Level 5 by the National Commission of Higher and Further Education (NCFHE) will be presented to delegates who successfully attend all modules and pass the assessment.

Course Objectives

The course will prepare leaders, managers and administrators of EU funded projects in planning projects, applying for funds, procurement, project management, monitoring and financial management.

The training will be provided by a team of professionals who have extensive experience in the different aspects of EU funds management including the design, ex-ante evaluations and thematic evaluations of the Operational Programmes for different EU funds, preparation of project applications, cost benefit analysis, public procurement, project management and audits of EU funded projects.
