Not only can Distinct Home cover higher values than standard insurance
can, it also gives you more as part of your policy. From complimentary
security advice to a GP helpline, Distinct Home is designed to protect the
home you love. And to make sure you get the cover that’s right for you
as an individual, we can work with you and your broker to set up a policy
with the correct cover options – whether you’ve got antiques, arts and
collectibles, a state-of-the-art sound system or the very latest gadgets.
Setting the highest standards
If any item in a set needs replacing, you won’t have to pay extra for Pairs,
Sets and Suites cover, as you normally would with a standard policy. Instead
we include it automatically – replacing them all for you so your interior
design isn’t affected. And we’ll also include Home Emergency cover, giving
you valuable cover if your heating system fails. Plus we’ll include Accidental
Damage as standard too, because we understand that accidents do happen.
We can also arrange a complimentary home security visit, looking at areas
such as theft, fire prevention and the general condition of your property to

belonging to a parent or grandparent while they’re in a nursing home or

A first-class degree of flexibility
We know the contents of your home can’t always be in your home; there
are certain items you’ll take with you when you travel overseas. So if you
temporarily take contents somewhere else in the world they’ll be covered
wherever you are, along with any possessions you pick up along the way.
Plus we can even help you find trusted home-sitters to look after your home
and care for your pets while you’re away. We’ve negotiated preferential rates
with Homesitters Limited so you can travel with the ultimate peace of mind
– the knowledge that your home is in safe hands.

Protecting with precision
We’re here to make sure that if something goes wrong, we can put it
right for you, quickly. For us to do this, it’s really important that your
home and everything in it are valued for the right amount. This makes
sure that you have adequate cover and aren’t under- (or over-) insured
– so the amount paid out in the event of a claim will actually cover
what needs to be replaced.
It’s so easy to lose touch with the number of valuable pieces you have
around your home, or how much individual items are worth. Some
valuables are hidden away in drawers, attics or outbuildings, while
others become part of your everyday life, so much so that you don’t
even think about how much they are worth now. For instance, the
value of things like clothing, curtains, carpets and soft furnishings,
electricals and collections, such as wines, can often be overlooked and
the value of designer items and precious metals can also rise much
quicker than you’d expect.
That’s why we’ve negotiated special discounted fees with
independent, professionally accredited companies who can provide
completely independent valuations of your home’s building and its
contents. Quastel Associates are professional valuers specialising in
antiques, works of art and jewellery, as well as more general items.
Valuations can be arranged with them for any number of items, from
a single painting to a detailed inventory.
For further support, specialist jewellers Mappin & Webb can record
details of a particular piece of jewellery so, if it is lost or damaged, they
can create an exact replica or arrange a specialist repair. We work with
other jewellers such as Watches of Switzerland and Goldsmiths, to give
a complete service for all our clients.
We also work with Barrett Corp & Harrington who can provide you
with an accurate re-building measurement and valuation, reflecting
the age and status of your home and all its distinguishing features.
You can then use these valuations to tell us how much cover you need.
And by working with respected loss adjustors Criterion, we make sure
we settle any claims accurately to the exact amount they are worth.

can create replica pieces, offer home visits, specialist repairs and
cash settlements.
Valuations
If you’d like to have your possessions valued, or obtain an accurate
re-building cost for your home, Quastel Associates and Barrett Corp
& Harrington are independent, professionally accredited companies
whose valuations are carried out by qualified staff offering full UK
coverage. We also work with Criterion to assist with the claims service.

We understand your vehicle is an important part of your lifestyle – whatever model and make. Through Distinct Motor, we look after that lifestyle as well as your vehicle, offering a level of support far beyond what you would receive through standard motor insurance.
Settlement options for your satisfaction
If your vehicle is involved in an accident, you can be sure that you’ll receive a
first-class service that will quickly take care of everything – that’s just what we
do. For appropriate specialist risks we can offer Agreed Values, which means
we’ll liaise with you and your broker to agree the worth of your vehicle to you,
not just its market value. Plus, if you bought a new vehicle less than three years
ago only to have it involved in an accident, after which it simply can’t be
repaired, or have the distress of it being stolen and not recovered, we’ll help you
get back on the road quickly. You can choose either a straight replacement of
the same model, or to take cash for its market value – helping keep you on the
road and your life on track.

Giving you the power to make the decisions
For added reassurance and to make things simpler for you, if your
vehicle needs repairing we have a network of manufacturer-approved
repairers, from BMW to Jaguar, at our fingertips, to get your vehicle
back into the condition you expect it to be in. Of course if your vehicle
needs repairing following a claim and there’s someone you trust to do
this, please feel free to use them for the repairs. It’s your vehicle, so it’s
your choice. Simply let us know first.
Premium courtesy cars for driving in style
If you need another vehicle while yours is being repaired, we
understand you don’t necessarily want to drive around in a small
hatchback, which is what a standard policy might provide. Should you
need another vehicle while yours is being repaired following a claim,
we offer the choice of a Mercedes C-Class or £4,000 of hire charges
towards an alternative vehicle in the UK.
Doing more to keep things moving
We think your vehicle insurance should help keep you on the road
however it can, so Distinct Motor also provides you with the very top
level of breakdown cover provided by RAC, available in both the UK
and Europe.
This includes roadside assistance, recovery, onward travel, replacement
vehicle hire, alternative transport and hotel accommodation, whenever
you need them. Or, if you’d rather not do the driving yourself, we also
cover chauffeurs.
Looking after you, too
Unfortunately, it might not only be your vehicle that is damaged in any

It also includes 24-hour medical emergency assistance wherever you
