Undergraduate Thesis2009 December -

2010 MayBachelor’s theisis work entitled “Formal specification and verification of embed-ded software: A case study using TLA+” at AVVP. Constructed a formal spec-ification of peripheral hardware subsystems of an industrial strength microcontrollerthat has automotive and medical applications and also proved that the formal hardwarespecification can be used for formal verification of embedded software specifications.Received ‘A’ grade.

Selected Projects2009 June Specially designed School OS for school children in collaboration with NCERT and

IIT Delhi (part of Sun Microsystems efforts to spearhead the rise of open-source in theprimary & secondary education system of India). Installed School OS in NCERT Labat New Delhi.

2009 February - April Implemented an instant messaging application to send, receive and view messages/mailbetween users registered to that application. Led a team of four where my role wasdesigning the front-end (HTML, Javascript) and a back-end. The project was aimed atincreasing our skills in internet programing.

2007 November -2008 February

As a part of Sun’s Code for Freedom Contest, I made bug fix contributions to OpenSolairscodebase (Solaris Nevada). The bugs were integrated into Solaris Nevada. In thisprocess, I gained a lot of knowledge of how files are organised in an operating systemand how to build the source code of Solaris. During this time, I also wrote a simpledocumentation on how to build the Solaris Nevada which was not available at that time.http://bugs.opensolaris.org

2007 July - August As a personal project and out of my interest towards web technologies and php, I de-veloped a web portal using WAMP (Windows Apache MYSQL PHP). This was testedon Windows and GNU/Linux platform successfully. http://avinashjoshi.co.in/avi
