ID Symptom WorkaroundKeywords062257s On the ip-codec-set form, it is possible to set Modem to

Relay mode and Fax to either Relay mode or T-38-Standard mode. However, this administration can cause DSP (Digital Signal Processor) channels to busy out frequently and TN2302/TN2602 curcuit packs to reset frequently in port networks and on media gateways, resulting in unavailable media resources and talkpath problems (no audio).

Communication Manager and TN2302/TH2502 circuit packs do not support this administration. Change the Modem to 'pass-through' (preferred) or change the Fax setting. Related document: PSN000876.

062057s If a server interchange or reset system 1 is requested following a reset system 2 or reset system 4, before all circuit packs have inserted but after the servers are refreshed, the system does not fully recover until you manually run a reset system 4.

Contact your technical support organization. Request and apply patch 12109 or any later patch that includes 12109. Alternatively, wait until the reset system 2 or 4 is complete before requesting the interchange or a warm start. The reset is not considered complete until all boards are inserted, all port networks are up, and inter-port network communication and trunks are fully functional. Related document: PSN000879.

061790s In rare situations, calls between port networks from DS1 trunks to stations have no talkpath, while station-to-station calls between port networks, and DS1 trunk-to-station calls within a port network, do have talkpath.

Contact your technical support organization. Request and apply the latest approved combo patch that includes the Service Interrupting patch 12122. You can also request and apply field load 634 for Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager. Related document: PSN000917.

061717s If the NI-2 calling name delivery feature is subscribed from the central office, and on the trunk group form the field US NI Delayed Calling Name Update is set to No, the NI-2 calling name nevertheless updates on the endpoint display after a call is transferred or placed on hold.

Contact your technical support organization. Request and apply the latest approved combo patch that includes patch 12012. You can also request and apply field load 634 for Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager. This is resolved in the service pack for Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager. 061650s On an international ISDN-BRI data call, such as a video conference call, the tone detector interprets international ringback as dial tone and drops the call. A tone detector attaches to all data calls, to listen for data tone and respond with handshake data tone if necessary. International ringback can be sufficiently similar to dialtone that the tone detector detects imprecise dialtone. In this situation, the caller must outpulse more digits. However, ISDN-BRI data calls are “senderized” and have no further digits to send, so the call drops.

Contact your technical support organization. Request and apply the latest approved combo patch that includes patch 11970. This is resolved in the service packs for Release 2.2.2 and 3.1.2 of Communication Manager. Related document: PSN000883.

ID Symptom WorkaroundKeywords061405s In rare circumstances, if the source of music or an

announcement is in a port network or a media gateway, and the music or announcement plays on a different media gateway, Communication Manager undergoes a reset system 1.

This is resolved in the service pack for Release 2.2.2 and in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

Announcements, Music On Hold, System Resets

061404s On the ip-network-region form, if you administer a domain name using upper-case letters, calls from that domain do not succeed.

Use all lower-case letters for these domain names.Blocked/Dropped Calls, Administration

061386s The command 'list measurements tone-receiver' shows information for Port Network 1 (PN1) even when there is no such port network configured.

Ignore the information for PN1.Measurements, Port Networks, Maintenance

061321s It is possible to "remove" an announcement via the announcements form by deleting its extension, even when the announcement is protected (P = Yes). This removes the administration of the announcement, but does not affect the underlying *.wav file. If you do this numerous times, the accumulated unused files leave no room to record further announcements, even though the command 'display integrated' does not show those files and therefore implies that room for additional announcements is available.

Set P to No before changing an announcement. If the problem already exists, you can clear out existing, unused *.wav files. For each such file:1. Assign the file to an extension.2. Make sure that P is set to No.3. Remove the file. This is resolved in Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager.

Announcements, Administration

061308s Members of a hunt group cannot activate the Exclusion feature for calls to that hunt group.

This is resolved in Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager.

Hunt Group, Call Center, Agent

061278s If two VDNs are configured on two servers, and one of the vectors contains a 'wait hearing music' step, DCS rerouting to the server whose vector contains that step fails to simplify the routing.

This is resolved in Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager.

DCS, Vectoring, Routing

061198s If the field Incoming Tone (DTMF) ANI on the trunk group form is set to ANI*DNIS*, then in the DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service), an ANI (Automatice Number Identification) string starting with an asterisk (*) precedes an ARS FAC (Feature Access Code) ending with an asterisk. Predictive dialing does not recognize this sequence, and therefore does not work correctly.

Do not use an ARS FAC in the DNIS. Alternatively, contact your technical support organization. Request and apply patch 11774 or any later patch that includes 11774. Related document: PSN000837.

061196s If the field H.323 Link Bounce Recovery on the ip-network-region form is set to No, IP endpoints are slow to recover from a brief network outage, or might not recover at all.

Set H.323 Link Bounce Recovery to Yes.H.323 IP, Endpoints / Appliances / Telephones

061188s If periodic maintenance runs on PRI trunks during hourly polling for trunk measurements, the command 'list measurement outage-trunk report' might show a trunk out of service with no hardware error logged.

This is resolved in Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager.

Measurements, Trunks

061148s In a configuration where a server running Communication Manager is interworking with a Tenovis I55 server via QSIG trunk, or loopback via a QSIG trunk, if an endpoint activates the Call Forwarding On No Reply (CFNR) feature, Communication Manager undergoes a reset system 4.

This is resolved in the service pack for Release 3.1.2 of Communication Manager.

041946s If you change or delete a Node Name value on the node-name ip form, but do not remove that node from the Survivable GK Node Name field on the station form for endpoints which use it, then those endpoints cannot re-register when their primary server is unavailable.

This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

Registration, Endpoints / Appliances / Telephones

041918s When you use the SAT command 'change extension-station' for an IP endpoint which supports unnamed registration, and which has a multiple-line display, the top line of the display continues to show the old extension number.

From the telephone, log off and log on again, or reboot the telephone. Alternatively, busy and then release the new extension as the administrator. This is resolved in Release 3.1 of Communication Manager.

ID Symptom WorkaroundKeywords040444s When a telephone using speakerphone makes a call, and

then puts that call on hold, then if the called party drops the call, the speakerphone indicator light might stay lit.

This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

Hold, Endpoints / Appliances / Telephone

040087s On a 6400 or 4600 series endpoint with softkeys, the TSA (Terminal Self Administration) Menu displays an asterisk (*) rather than the options Replace and Delete.

This display does not indicate translation corruption. Choose the first asterisk to choose Replace, or the second asterisk to choose Delete. This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

Administration, Endpoints / Appliances / Telephones

034951s If you use an extension which is not administered as an argument for the command 'off-pbx-telephone station-mappings', the command does not list the unadministered extension or any extensions following it.

Always specify an administered extension number. This is resolved in Release 3.1 of Communication Manager.

034802s It is possible to administer a variable on the vector form even if that variable is not defined in the variables for vectors table. This can result in misprogrammed vectors.

Check to ensure that all variables administered on the vector form also exist in the variables for vectors table. This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

Vectoring, Administration

034445s In some situations, registering thousands of IP endpoints simultaneously might take longer than expected.

This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

Registration, H.323 IP, Endpoints / Appliances / Telephones

034282s If the value for Data Storage Allocation for stored/measured item in CMS is lower than the space actually used for this purpose by the server administration, agents cannot log in, but the denial event log does not describe the cause clearly.

Reset the allocation to conform to the increased need. This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

034160s A tandem call over an R2MFC trunk on a port network to an R2MFC trunk on a media gateway, or vice versa, where the Outgoing Dial Type is set to MF on the trunk-group form, does not complete.

Set Outgoing Dial Type on these trunks to Tone. This is resolved in Release 3.0 of Communication Manager.

033854s An endpoint which reports that it already has a given release of its firmware does not accept an attempt to download the same firmware again, regardless of the download status reported on the firmware station-download form.

To re-download a given release of firmware to an endpoint that already has that firmware, first download a different release, and then download the desired release.

033556s On a call from an IP endpoint over an IP or SIP trunk, if the DTMF method for the trunk's signaling group is set to 'in-band' or 'in-band-g711', DTMF tones cannot be sent to the far end.

Set the method of DTMF for the signaling group to 'rtp-dtmf-payload'.

Networking, Tones, H.323 IP, Trunks, SIP, Endpoints / Appliances / Telephones

033286s The output of the command 'list usage extensions' does not include extensions administered on the off-pbx-telephone feature-name-extensions form.

This is resolved in Release 3.1 of Communication Manager.

Administration, Maintenance

031770s If the return destination for a VDN is another VDN, then if a call where ASAI single-step conference is active attempts to go to the return destination, the entire call drops.

This is resolved in Release 3.1 of Communication Manager.

025227s If you use the command 'reset board' on a slot that is unadministered and physically empty, the system appears to accept the command, and can take several minutes before it eventually returns a test failure.

Do not use the command 'reset board' on an empty slot.Administration, Maintenance, TN Circuit Packs

022290s On a DEFINITY Server SI or CSI, the SAT command 'list directory board <UUCSS> annc' might result in a reset system 1. This can occur in cases of path exhaustion with a TN2501AP (VAL: Voice Announcement on LAN) circuit pack.

Contact your technical support organization. Request and apply patch 8078 (or, if available, any later patch which includes 8078). This is resolved in Release 1.3 of Communication Manager. Related document: PSN000258.
