PROMOTION OF GRANT GOLDSMITH TO DVP CHICAGO (Monday, January 30, 2017) –Avalon Risk Management announces the promotion of Grant Goldsmith to Divisional Vice President, Southern Division. Grant joined Avalon in April of 2010 to manage our Houston office and soon became Vice President of Business Development for the Southern Division. His efforts to help grow the Southern Division’s product lines have been invaluable to Avalon. With his diverse background working in the US as well as overseas, he is uniquely qualified to provide solutions that meet our customer’s global business needs. As Divisional Vice President of the Southern Division, Grant will manage Avalon’s Miami, Atlanta/Charleston and Houston offices. He will lead both the sales and administrative staffs of the division drawing on his strong professional and personal skills to train and continue their professional development while fostering a culture of superior customer service as you expect from Avalon. He is actively involved in national and local associations such as National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) and the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA). He is the recent past president of the Houston Maritime Arbitration Association and continues to serve on the board of HMAA. Grant has more than 17 years of insurance and transportation experience, acting as an insurance agent for Marine and P&C lines, as well as serving as Global Risk Manager for a multi-national logistics company. He holds a bachelors of science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University, as well as a Marine Insurance Diploma from Lloyd’s of London. In addition to being a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager International (CRM), Grant also is a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB). He is currently pursuing the Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) designation.
