AV Flexologic Mount-O-Matic technology The Mount-O-Matic 2500 Plus is provided with the well testedFlexologic software and fitted with a mounting table , 2 controlledhigh-resolution cameras, one split-screen monitor with very highmagnificationofmountingmarks.

Bymeansofthecomputertheprintinglength(repeat)ofthecylindercanbedivided intoequalpartsor intommor inches.Thisway thecylinderwidthcanalsobedividedintommorinches.Themountingmarksof theprintingplates tobemountedare setwidth-waysandcylindercircumference-ways,whereuponthecamerasandcylinderaremovedautomaticallytotheexactposition.

Theprintingplatescanbepositionedextremely fastandprecisebyusingthetable.Theheightofthetable issettoastandardleveltowhich the movements of the camera’s and the cylinders or sleeveshave been adjusted. Once the operator has brought the plate intoposition on the flat table the cylinder will move upwards, and the

Opti shAFtthe Opti shaft series is a unique, and perfect solution for both the medium and wide-web flexo printing industry and the flexible packaging industry. it is developed for those customers who want to have the possibility to mount on cylinders as well as on sleeves.

For the mounting on cylinders this machine is equipped with theAV Flexologic Mount-O-Matic technology and Mirror system. For adetaileddescriptionontheAVFlexologicMount-O-MatictechnologypleaserefertotheMount-O-Matic2500Plus.

Mirror systemThe semi-reflecting mirror is used when mounting is done directlyfromthedie-cutdrawingonthe impressioncylinder.Duringmanualmountingtheoperatorusestheviewonthemonitorofthetwohighmagnificationcameras,mountedaboveandlookingthroughthemirror.ThiseliminatestheParallaxeffect.Themonitorshowsthecombinationoftheimageoftheproofontheproofingcylinderandthepositionofflexoplatesontheprintcylinder.

Formountingsleeves,thismachineisequippedwithauniquedirectdriveclampconstructionforformatcylinders(seepicture).

Aproofingcylinderwithdigitaladjustmentforaperfectproofcomesstandard with this machine. After mounting, the plate cylinder isautomatically brought to the right position for pulling a proof. Theprint nip on the left hand side and on the right hand side can, ifnecessary,besetandadjustedbyincreasingordecreasingthepressuretoeitherside.

For details on cylinder mounting see the Mount-O-Matic 2500 plus. For mounting onto sleeves this machine is equipped with a simple to operate device; a standard sleeve changer on the left hand side. sleeves can be changed in a fast and simple way. A more sophisticated sleeve changer on the right hand side and a cones system come as options.

Accordingtothesizeoftheplatecylinder, thetablecanbemovedvertically up from min. 230 mm to max. 1000 mm. The height isadjustedonceonlybymeansofahandwheelandanindicationscaletothedesiredcircumferenceoftheplatecylinder.Forthe2nd,3rdandfurthercolours(cylinders),clickonnext,andthefollowingcolourscanbemountedtothenextcylindersintheexactsameposition.

Overlay functionThis highly sophisticated precision tool was invented and patentedbyAVFlexologicB.V.Theoverlay function isbasedontheprinciplethatthefirstcolour/plateisusedasareferenceforthenextcolours/plates.Oncethefirstplateisintherightposition,thismoduleenablestheoperatortotakeandstoreascreenshotofthemicrodotsoranypartof thedesignasa referencepointontheplates,which is thenshownonthemonitor.Whilstmountingthenextplates,thispictureisdisplayed ina fadedwayonthemonitorasa referencepoint fortheoperator.Theoperatorsimplyhastopositionthereferencepointsofthenextplate(s)overit(overlay)inexactlythesameposition.Thesystem enables snapshots to be taken and stored of these secondandnextplatesaswell,whichcanserveasadigitalproofforqualitycontrol purposes before printing. The Overlay module provides amagnificationof20toa100times.Severalhairlinetypesareavailableas different microdots might need different hairlines. The pictureonthemonitorcanbeadjusted foroutside light influencessuchasbrightness,gamma,sharpness,shutter,whitebalanceandgain.

Cutting knife Thecircularknifeisespeciallydesignedforcuttingplatesandtapeonthecylinder,whichmakesitimpossibletocutintothecylinder.Thestabilityof the knifemakes it very accurate and therefore easier tomakeacutintwodirections,bothcircularandparalleltothecylinder.Theknifehasitsownguideandrunsexactlyparalleltothecylinders.

tape holder The tape holder makes it easier to apply the sticky back onto thecylinder.The tapeholder system ismountedbetween the supportsandmovesabsolutelyparallelinreferencetothecylinder.

FuLLy AutOMAtiC MOunting MAChine (FAMM)®This patented machine has been especially developed for thosecustomers who demand the highest standards. Repeatability,accuracy and speed are extremely good compared to conventionalmounting,givingaquickreturnon investment.There isnoneed formanual handling. The quality reporting is digital.The operator positions the plates on a conveyor belt.TheFAMMtakestheplatestotherightpositionbymeansofastateoff the art vision recognitionsystem,andmountstheplates.

The mounting mark is recognised and the plate is automaticallypositioned. Thismachine can replace 3 to 4 conventionalmountingmachines.
