‘Great oaks from little acorns grow’ Autumn term (2) 2016 – End of Term And the angel said unto them: "Fear not: 'Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people, Unto you is born this day a Savior which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11 This week… The Nativity… Christmas Service & Fair… Thank you to everyone who came to the children’s wonderful ‘The Nativity’ in church on Tuesday afternoon & evening. The children looked fantastic and were all true stars – acting, singing and speaking so wonderfully. It was lovely that afterwards the children were able to share with you their festive creations whilst you enjoyed a warming glass of mulled wine, kindly provided by Mr & Mrs Visser and served by Mrs Bailey and Mr Harris (governors) and mince pies (donated by staff & governors). A BIG BIG thank you for your donations which will be spent on items for children’s annual events, resources and equipment. Thank you also to everyone at Christ Church who helped us and for making us all feel so welcome. Pantomime Time… Wednesday’s trips to the Courtyard Theatre proved, as always, to be a great success. KS2 children enjoyed ‘Aladdin’ and KS1 spent the afternoon totally enthralled in the story of ‘The Snow Queen’. “It was funny…He made silly noises…the magic bottle noise made us laugh.” “the songs were funny…it was a big laugh…it was great when the genie floated and the firework made us jump when she appeared…the best panto I’ve seen.” Thank you again to everyone in supporting the PTFA fundraising this year that made these trips to the Courtyard possible. Christmas Lunch… A Special Visitor The library was magically transformed into a grotto yesterday when we were joined by Father Christmas. The children were thrilled with their gifts. The children were also thrilled with their ‘Christmas 2016’ baubles – thank you. Good to Be Green Well done to all pupils who have been ‘Green’ all term. ‘December’ Birthday Wishes to… Acorn Class: Lily G Beech Class: Romerleigh Warmest ‘Special’ Birthday Wishes to Mrs Deloyde December Attendance… 95.9 % Road Safety Awareness… Well done to Lily S, Abi, Harry I & Grace who won the recent Road Safety colouring & designing competition. They were presented with their prizes by our Junior Road Safety Officers, Grace & Xena, in last Friday’s celebration assembly. Last week Year 1, 2, 3 & 4 also took part in road safety workshops with Barbara Isle, Road Safety Officer from Herefordshire Council.
