Autumn Gold Clog Sock This pattern is intended for 2 socks at one time, knit on 1 or 2 circular needles for sizes small, medium and large. I have included a small section on knitting 1 sock at a time on 5 DPNs. Materials: 1 or 2 size 2.25mm circular needle(s) or 4 2.25mm DPNs or size to obtain gauge fingering weight yarn 2x 50gms ( I used Sisu) cable needle Tapestry needle Abbreviations: BOR= beginning of round CN= cable needle LN= left- hand needle KN=right- hand needle C6B= cable 6 stitches to the back of work. Abbreviations: BOR= beginning of round CN= cable needle LN= left- hand needle KN=right- hand needle C6B= cable 6 stitches to the back of work. Slide 3 sts to CN and hold to back of the work, knit the next 3 sts on the LN and then the 3sts from the CN. C6BP= cable 6 stitches to the back of the work. Slide 3 sts to CN and hold to the back of the work, purl the next 3 sts on the LN and then the 3 sts from the CN. K2T=knit 2 sts together P2T=purl 2 sts together

SL1= slip the next stitch or 2nd or 3rd etc SKP= slip 1, knit 1 and pass the slip stitch over the knit stitch SPP= slip 1, purl 1and pass the slip stitch over the purl stitch YO=yarn over PYO2=pick up the YO stitch and pass it over the next 2 sts PSSO=pass slip stitch over K2T Gauge: 10sts= 1 inch *Note: there are 2 different patterns used in these socks. The instep pattern is Diamond Drops and the heel pattern is Lace and Cables Diamond Drops from 365 Knitting Stitches A Year, October 19th Multiple of 4 Rows 1&3: Knit Row 2: K1, *YO, K2, PYO2, K2* to last 3sts then YO, K2, PYO2, K1 Row 4:K3, *YO, K2, PYO2, K2* to last 3sts then K3 Repeat these 4 rows for instep of sock(s) Lace and Cables from 365 Knitting Stitches A Year, January 14th Row 1: K6 (8, 10), YO, SKP, K1, K2T, YO, K6, YO, SKP, K1, K2T, YO, K6 (8, 10) Row 2 and all even rows: Knit to end Row 3: K 7 (9, 11), YO, Sl1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K8, YO, Sl1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K 7 (9, 11) Row 5: Repeat row 1 Row 7: K 7 (9, 11), YO, Sl1, K2T, YO, K1, C6B, K1, YO, Sl1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K 7 (9, 11) Row 8: Knit to end Repeat the above 8 rows for pattern Sock Start: Cast on 56, (64, 72) sts loosely. Divide sts on 1 or 2 circ(s) as follows: Needle Shaft: 28, (32, 36) heel sts Cable: 28, ( 32, 36) instep sts Join. BOR Cuff: Work cuff in pattern stitch of *K2, P2* rib for 1.5 inches from cast on edge. End at BOR. Leg: Work in leg pattern of Lace and Cables pattern on heel needle and Diamond Drops on instep needle until socks measure 6 inches from start Heel Flap with modified Lace and Cables Stitch:

Slip heel sts onto needle shaft. [28, 32, 36 sts] With RS facing, work back and forth as follows: SOCK A Row 1: Sl 1, K5 (7, 9), YO, SKP, K1, K2T, YO, K6, YO, SKP, K1, K2T, YO, K6 (8, 10) Row 2: Sl 1 purlwise, p to end. SOCK B Row 1: Sl 1 purlwise, P 5 (7, 9), YO, SPP, P1, P2T, YO, P6, YO, SPP, P1, P2T, YO, P6 (8, 10) Row 2: Sl 1 knitwise, knit across SOCK A Row 3: Sl 1, K6 (8, 10), YO, Sl1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K8, YO, SL1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K7 (9, 11) Row 4: Sl 1 purlwise, p to end. SOCK A Row 7: Sl 1, K6 (8, 10), YO, Sl1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K1, C6B, K1, YO, Sl1, K2T, PSSO, YO, K7 (9, 11) Row 8: Sl 1 knitwise, k to end. SOCK B Row 7: Sl 1, P6 (8, 10), YO, Sl1, P2T, PSSO, YO, P1, C6BP, P1, YO, Sl1, P2T, PSSO, YO, P7 (9, 11) Row 8: Sl 1 purlwise, p to end. Repeat the above 8 rows per sock for a total of 4 times then stockinette stitch on each sock once. Start heel turn on Sock A Turn Heel: Note: Turn heel on one sock at a time. Start with Sock A and end with Sock B with RS facing. Sl 1 = slip 1 purlwise Round Heel Row 1: (RS) K16 (18,20), ssk, k1. Turn. Row 2: (WS) Sl 1, p 7, p2tog, p1. Turn. Row 3: (RS) Sl 1, k 8, ssk, k1. Turn. Row 4: (WS) Sl 1, p 9, p2tog, p1. Turn. Row 5: (RS) Sl 1, k 10, ssk, k1. Turn. Continue working one more stitch until all stitches have been worked. Then Sl 1, knit across Heel Gusset: On Sock B with the tip of the needle, pick up 12 (14, 16) sts along the side of the heel. (heel section) Pick up a stitch from the row below the first instep st to prevent a hole. [13, 15, 17 sts picked up] Slide sts to cable, move instep sts to shaft. Work across 32 instep sts. Slide instep sts onto cable being careful to keep separate from heel sts. Pick up and knit a st from below the last instep st to prevent a hole. Pick up 12 (14, 16) sts along the side of the heel. [13, 15, 17 sts picked up] Work remaining heel section sts. Slide all heel section sts onto cable and instep sts onto shaft. Work across instep sts. BOR

Shape Gusset: Rnd 1: (Dec Rnd) Heel: K1, ssk, work to 3 sts from end. K2tog, k1. Instep: Work in Diamond Drops pattern Rnd 2: Work even. Repeat Rnds 1 and 2 until there are 64 sts remaining. [32 rnds total] Foot: Continue working in rnds until foot is at base of big toe. Complete instep sts. BOR Shape Toe - Classic Standard Rnd 1: Heel: K1, ssk, work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Instep: K1, ssk, work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Rnd 2: Work even. Repeat Rnds 1 and 2 until 36, 40, 44 total sts remain. Work decrease rnd only until 16 sts remain. [8 instep sts, 8 sole sts] Finishing Slide sts from cable to needle shaft and onto DPNs and graft sts using Kitchener Stitch.
