10 Years Service! A big congratulations to Mark on reaching a 10 year employment milestone. Mark is employed at Pulteney Grammar School as a Handy-person/Grounds man. Mark’s role encompasses quite a variety of tasks including the general upkeep of the school lawns, watering systems, assorted types of equipment used by both students and staff, scheduled vehicle maintenance, service & repairs and the setting up for numerous functions held at the school. Mark has a very positive attitude and you will always find him working hard and with a smile on his face. Congratulations again Mark on a job well done!

Disability Standards In this edition of the MJP Newsletter we take a closer look at Standard Three of the National Standards for Disability Services. Standard 3: The intent of this standard is to promote the connection of people with a disability with their families, friends and chosen communities. It also requires that services work together with individuals to enable their genuine participation and inclusion. This standard recognizes the role that services can play in enabling the contribution and inclusion of people with a disability and their valued participation in the community including work and learning.

In meeting this standard, services will actively support and encourage individuals to connect with family and friends & to feel included in their chosen communities. This should be based on an individual’s interests, identity, heritage and aspirations.

Importantly, the focus on “valued role” needs to be one of the individual’s choosing.

MJP Job Talk 4

10 Year Service!

Rebecca recently celebrated her 10th year with Coles Craigmore.

Top effort Rebecca!

Rebecca was presented with an award by Lisa Beaty the Manager at Coles Craigmore and along with the staff shared light refreshments to celebrate this momentous occasion. Rebecca works part time at Coles and MJP Job Support Officer Fritz has been providing the onsite support in her workplace. A dedicated worker Rebecca treats her job very seriously waking up early to get there on time and rarely missing a day at work. The award was presented to Rebecca for her dedication and loyalty to her employer.

Congratulations Rebecca!

MJP Website

Have you checked out the MJP website lately? If not why not check it out now? We have made a few updates and it is looking pretty flash. Simply type: www.mjpemploymentservices.com

into a search engine such as Google and it will take you straight there. There is helpful information for both Job Seekers and Employers. Info like success stories, fact sheets, a Job Seekers toolkit and there are spaces available for our Employers to advertise. Another great addition to the MJP website is it can talk to you. So if your not really keen on reading or English is your second language you can run your curser over the words and the computer will read them out to you. And one more thing the website speaks several different languages so why not check it out for yourself and see? We would love to get your feedback.
