/ ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Northern Virginia Community College Automotive Technology, A.A.S. and Pennsylvania College of Technology Automotive Technology Management, B.S. I. PURPOSE This agreement establishes a mechanism for graduates of the Northern Virginia Community College {NOVA), Automotive Technology A.A.S. degree to transfer specific earned credits into the Automotive Technology Management, B.S. degree at Pennsylvania College of Technology {Penn College). II. GOALS A. To provide a well-defined mechanism for graduates of the Automotive Technology, A.A.S. at Northern Virginia Community College to begin the Automotive Technology Management, S.S. at Penn College at the appropriate entry point. B. To recruit associate degree graduates whose career goals include acquisition of a baccalaureate degree. Ill. AGREEMENT BENEFITS A. Coursework fulfilled through credit-by-exam, prior learning assessment, work/life experience, CLEP, and/or College Board's Advanced Placement and applied to the graduation requirements for the Automotive Technology program at NOVA will be accepted for transfer if course fulfills baccalaureate degree requirements at Penn College. B. Students may apply up to two years prior to expected enrollment at Penn College. Upon payment of tuition deposit, students will be afforded the opportunity to access Penn College advisors and additional Penn College resources. IV. TRANSFER AND ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS Penn College will accept NOVA graduates into the Automotive Technology Management major if they meet the following requirements and adhere to the Admission Procedures (Part V). I PURPOSE

This agreement establishes a mechanism for graduates of the Northern Virginia Community

College NOVA) Automotive Technology AAS degree to transfer specific earned credits into

the Automotive Technology Management BS degree at Pennsylvania College of Technology

Penn College)

II GOALS

A To provide a well-defined mechanism for graduates of the Automotive Technology

AAS at Northern Virginia Community College to begin the Automotive Technology

Management SS at Penn College at the appropriate entry point

B To recruit associate degree graduates whose career goals include acquisition of a

baccalaureate degree

Ill AGREEMENT BENEFITS

A Coursework fulfilled through credit-by-exam prior learning assessment worklife

experience CLEP andor College Boards Advanced Placement and applied to the

graduation requirements for the Automotive Technology program at NOVA will be

accepted for transfer if course fulfills baccalaureate degree requirements at Penn

College

B Students may apply up to two years prior to expected enrollment at Penn College Upon

payment of tuition deposit students will be afforded the opportunity to access Penn

College advisors and additional Penn College resources

IV TRANSFER AND ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

Penn College will accept NOVA graduates into the Automotive Technology Management

major if they meet the following requirements and adhere to the Admission Procedures

(Part V)

A NOVA applicants must have a final cumulative GPA of 20 (on a 40 scale) or higher

Accreditation or discipline requirements may require that all courses eligible for transfer

be completed with a C or higher

B Students must complete a minimum of36 credits at Penn College for coursework

prescribed in the final four semesters of the students baccalaureate profile

C Students transferring to Penn College are eligible and will be considered for scholarship

opportunities the same as currently enrolled students Students must meet the

application deadlines for scholarships for the fall and spring enrollment Students must

have paid tuition deposit to be eligible

D Penn College will only consider those credits earned through NOVA Students must

request transcripts from additional institutions to be evaluated on an individual basis at

Penn College

E Distance Learning Option Graduates of NOVA must possess ASE Master Certification

OEM Master Certification or NATEF Automotive Curriculum Credits and two years of

full-time transportation related maintenance or service management work to be eligible

to enroll in the Automotive Technology Management BS degree offered via distance learning (online)

V ARTICULATED COURSES AND PROGRAM SPECIFICS

A For those students who meet the Transfer Requirements (Part IV) course equivalencies

based on NOVAs associate degree program will be applied to Penn Colleges graduation requirements as reflected in Appendix A

VI ADMISSION PROCEDURES

A Individual must submit a completed Application for Admission Application fees are

waived when submitted online

B Applicant must provide an official transcript of all college course work

C The students academic profile a prescribed course sequence for completion of a specific major will be provided after official evaluation of all transfer credit The academic profile will determine graduation requirements

VII SIGNATURES ampTERMS OF AGREEMENT

This articulation agreement has been reviewed and approved by those indicated on the

signature page A representative from each institution will inform the other party of any

curriculum changes which will then be reviewed to re-establish this agreement This agreement

is effective the date signed and will be reviewed annually by the host institution Either

institution may terminate the agreement by giving written notice to the other party of an

intention to terminate In the event that this agreement is terminated the terms of the

agreement contained herein will remain in effect for the maximum of one year
