The electronic world is chang-ing at a higher speed than ever

In M-Comp we work with com-panies and people from all over the world. We sell mostly in the Nordic countries, deliver and buy globally.

The development in exchange rates, interest and labor- and transportation cost have changed the agenda in most companies. The need for speed and sustainability is the new theme and focus.

No business is able to act with a very long horizon anymore, and therefore partners must be flexible and able to react fast to changes in demand and cost.

M-Comp find the success in this new way of business based on knowhow. Knowhow on the technical elements on manu-factures competences and product quality, on customer and market needs and kno-whow on the planned invest-ments into technology planned by manufactures and custom-ers. All in all a quite complex

From the CEO

M-Comp on the social medias

business model which requires strong strategic relations, overview and close commit-ments between collaboration partners.

Google showed their project ARA - an idea to make a mobile phone modular so consumers can change the needed ele-ments – like the screen rather than the complete phone. This is not only to make life of con-sumers easier but also chang-ing the complete business structure as the structure be-comes modular – the power of one supply channel like Apple and Samsung disappear.

Integration becomes easier and companies who makes only cameras or displays or batter-ies can have a business oppor-tunity.

We find the need for being specialized into some product areas and some geographical areas very important. We see the need to integrate modules to solutions for customers, and thereby provide total solutions and not only provide compo-nents. The link is know-how! We find the Nordic market in-teresting, with the large popu-

lation of small and medium sized companies working with technology to solve many chal-lenges for humans – being ro-bot technology, energy technol-ogy or health technology.

All of these areas interact with each other either via Human Machine interfaces or Machine to Machine interfaces.

This is why our technology fo-cus are Displays/Touch/em-bedded computer (HMI) and IoT (MtM).

We believe as Google that the modular approach will make most possibilities for the most companies and make them act fast to demands and trends. To secure fast access for cus-tomers to these technology areas, we invest strongly in ap-plication support and develop-ment kits as well as the ability to make suggestions on inte-gration.

It is our plan to differentiate our self, to become a unique value-creating partner for our cus-tomers and suppliers with the key words: know-how on how to do and the ability to do so.

RECOM’s new RAC48/OF and RAC60/OF Class II open frame power supplies offer 48W or 60W output power with excel-lent performance, even at high ambient temperatures.

With an operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C at 100% load and up to 70°C at derated load, there is typically no need for active cooling.

These compact AC/DC modules are highly efficient, have a long hold-up time (60ms) and are also compliant with the Europe-an ErP directive (<0.5W in stand-

by). The PSUs are also built with high quality components to en-sure a long, trouble-free life.

Both series are available with output voltages of 5VDC, 12VDC, 15VDC and 24VDC, adjustable via the on-board preset. The DC outputs are fully protected with OCP, OVP and hiccup SCP.

With their universal input volt-age range of 90V to 265VAC and 3kVAC/1 minute isolation, they are suitable for worldwide use.The converters are fully certi-fied with EN55022 EMC (Class B), IEC 60950-1 CB Report, EMC + LVD CE mark, FCC and UL 60950-1 certificates.

History and name

Ever since the foundation of the Hong Kong-based company Varitronix Ltd back in 1978, the display manufacturer have under the guidance of it´s top management executed a strat-egy that navigates the company away from the traps and hurdles that most other display manu-facturer face sooner or later. The name Varitronix is actually short for “Variable Electronics” and that should send a message of “change” and “flexibility”. This is a great asset to have in the fierce competition that is an everyday challenge. With a clear focus on small-to-medi-um size TFT displays, mono-chrome displays and touch so-lutions, Varitronix has grown into a formidable manufacturer with a global footprint and prod-ucts that few other manufactur-ers can match.

Varitronix & M-Comp

“It is safe to say that M-Comp and its people comes from a display solutions background even if the competencies now also cover Embedded products and IoT, Internet of Things so it was an easy decision for Vari-tronix and M-Comp to sign a Nordic distribution contract.

The two companies have in March 2015 spent a week to-gether in Asia on management level to define short term and long terms plans for helping customers find new solutions to their design ideas and to plan ahead for future market re-quirements.”

Fab-less is “fab-ulous”

One of key strategies for Vari-tronix is to avoid the difficulties connected with the develop-ment of core LCD technologies and the huge capital invest-

About Varitronix

ments needed to build and run production lines for display motherglass. Instead, Varitronix uses a similar strategy to many successful companies in the semiconductor arena, i.e. the fab-less approach. That means that Varitronix defines each product based on customer specifications and own market insight and then orders volumes of specified motherglass from carefully selected vendors to then be completed as displays in the Varitronix fully owned ad-vanced factory in the city of Hey-uan in the Guangdong province, mainland China. You could say that this fab-less strategy works “fab-ulous” for Varitronix.

So, why buy from varitronix?

About two thirds of the Varitro-nix turnover comes from sales to a customer type that is usu-ally recognized as the perhaps most demanding of all: Auto-motive. The car industry needs

very competitive pricing, Just In Time-deliveries, very high qual-ity and reliability, product sup-ply cycles over as many as up to 15 years and extended tempera-ture range just to mention a few. Varitronix have enjoyed huge success with this customer type.

Thanks to the increased mobil-ity of many products and appli-cations, and displays with touch panel replacing buttons, knobs and older types of indicators, Varitronix can use their core strengths to offer their products to other customers like Indus-trial, Medical, Consumer and White Goods.

The MTBF lifetime (MIL-HDBK217F) is approximately 450,000 hours. The power sup-plies come with RECOM’s stand-ard 3 year warranty.

Presently, it is the beginning of March in the week after the Em-bedded World 2015 in Nurem-berg, which is also the week be-fore the Embedded Conference Scandinavia Syd in Malmoe, and everyone can feel the excite-ment building up of a boom-ing market for IoT – Internet of Things.

Almost every day one can read new market predictions while different companies, institutes and experts generate defini-tions or scenarios for the antici-pated growth.

Just by listening to these in-dustry sources, it is hard not to be carried away by the seem-ingly immense possibilities. But there are of course also a num-ber of imminent obstacles. For example, the upcoming “forced”

News from Swedentransition to IPv6 as the current IPv4 soon reaches its address exhaustion, and practical pre-dicaments in aligning middle-ware protocols and communica-tion standards.

Above all stands security issues that is totally new to many appli-cations and products that until now were not hooked up to the internet, or to a different prod-uct in a M2M network.

A hacked smartphone (or a hacked vending machine for that matter) could within sec-onds reveal globally through In-stagram, Facebook or LinkedIn that you bought a chocolate can-dy bar from a vending machine and we might don´t want that to happen, do we?

What drives demand is different for many customer segments, products or services. One thing

that sooner or later comes into play is economy, and Sweden is right now exploring an unique situation with a so called repo rate interest of -0.1%.

That´s right, minus 0.1%! Swe-den does not plan to increase that interest rate before the sec-ond half of 2016.

This is a clear signal to consum-ers, companies and investors to activate and let more money work.

As also the oil price and the electricity, cost is quite low, the combined should support in-creased spending by consumers and add competitiveness to the manufacturing industry. We will have to wait and see what hap-pens to inflation, currency ex-change rates and the GNP.

As the Country Manager, I am thrilled to be able to discuss opportunities and ideas almost every day. A lot of companies, or start-ups, constantly test our ability to support them with new solutions.

And they are definitely not lim-ited to one application type only.

We meet with medical com-panies, with transportation companies, with communica-tion companies, with wearable sports products companies, with heavy industry companies and some of the companies in the above mentioned IoT arena that probably will be recognized as entrepreneurs or even lead-ers in their markets in a few years from now.

We are very proud and happy to sign distribution contracts with two successful suppliers in their respective fields, Varitronix for displays and Econais for WiFi-modules within IoT.

You can read more about their solutions in this magazine, and of course on the internet.

So, please let us sit down and discuss your ideas around dis-plays, embedded configurations and IoT-products. I feel it is go-ing to be interesting, fun and profitable at the same time.

We have a solution for you!

In our daily work with custom-er’s solutions, we have seen a demand for a smart connec-tion between the HMI, which is often a display with a touch, a USB entry point and some I/O for emergency button, and indi-cators, and the main computer with power supply.

This is to give a light HMI with thin design and lightweight, which can be connected by one cable to power, LVDS, USB and i/o’s from a computer directly.

The length of the cable can be up to 8 meters and therefore it is suited in vehicles, automation equipment.

TFT & Touchfrom EDT

By Kim Kristensen, [email protected]

EDT or Emerging Display Tech-nologies Corporation was found-ed in Taiwan 1994, the goal was to deliver high quality display, touch solutions, support and service. This goal has never changed and that is important, the display and touch is normal-

ly what users of a solution is in contact with, so the functional-ity and quality matters. EDT has for many years offered small to medium size displays, with or without touch. They still do this, to assure that applications or projects with this need can have the long lifetime that it was intended. With the demands for

EDT, quality and product lifetimemore and more solutions moving from buttons, character displays and other ways of communica-tion between humans and ma-chines demands changes. This is for example longer lifetime on backlight, bigger view angles, coatings for protection and big-ger displays. EDT have parted the products in different groups, groups that give an indication on the specification of the displays:

High Performance:

Sizes from 3,5” to 10,1” with 600 cd/m2 light and 70K hours backlight, temperature opera-tion from -20 to +70 or -30 to +80 degrees and all can be delivered with touch. So high brightness and long lifetime backlight, is the strength of this group.

Super Wide Viewing:

Sizes from 2,4” to 12,1” with be-tween 300 and 400 cd/m2 back-light, view angles from 70 to 88 degrees in all directions, tem-perature operation from -20 to +70 (12,1” 0 to 50), some can be delivered with touch. The wide viewing angle is a result of MVA and SWV that EDT has imple-mented in this series, the 10,1” and the 12,1” is of the IPS type like we know from high end tab-lets.

Unified Interface:

Sizes from 3,5” to 7,0” with be-tween 300 and 450 cd/m2 back-light, temperatures operating

from -20 to +70 degrees. All in this group can be delivered with touch, and as the name indicates, all with Unified Interface.

Cost-Optimized:

Sizes from 2,0” to 7,0” with be-tween 250 and 340 cd/m2 back-light, temperatures operating from -20 to +70 degrees. A few can be delivered with MCU inter-face, and touch can be delivered on the sizes from 3,5” to 7,0”.

Standard:

Sizes from 1,8” to 15,4” with be-tween 250 and 450 cd/m2 back-light, temperatures operating from -20 to +70 degrees (15,4” 0 to 50). Most can be delivered with touch and different interfaces like SPI, RGB, MCU and LVDS. So there is a big variety of oppor-tunities, if something needs to be a bit different it’s possible to

get displays customized by EDT. Also bonded with cover lenses in glass up to 3 mm including Go-rilla glass, or in PMMA up to 1,5 mm. All these cover lenses can be coated with different kinds of coating like anti-reflection, an-tiglare-glare, anti-smudge, anti-fingerprint and with multi-color printing like for example logo.

The indoor signage market grows rapidly, but large outdoor signage does not because there

are many technical restrictions in outdoor environment. One of the leading optical bonding part-ner in Korea, DMK Co., Ltd., has announced new 84” 4K and 72” FHD outdoor signage system.

The core technologies of 84” signage system are very thin tempered glass (Corning Gorilla Glass, 2.0mm), good quality anti-reflection coating, large display optical bonding (DMK) and high durable silicon resin (Henkel).

The merit of 84” tempered glass in 2mm thickness is dramatic weight reduction. If we use con-ventional tempered glass (ea. thickness 15mm), the glass weight become 70Kg, but 2mm glass - same strength - has only 10Kg.

This weight reduction makes easy handling and cost reduction in production, installation and after sales service.

Corning glass stresses the ben-efit of gorilla glass as following;

• Tough: Its exceptional damage resistance helps protect today’s most

The largest optical bonding for outdoor use signage sophisticated displays from the conventional external surface pressures in herent to these displays, which means it better endures the ongoing physical contact typical for these devices.

• Thin: The thinness of Corning Gorilla Glass – combined with its exceptional optical quality and high transmission – optimizes the user’s viewing experience. In addition, it allows for a significant weight reduction, which enables sleek design options as well as transportation savings.

• Clear: The optical clarity of Corning Gorilla Glass does not reduce resolution or picture quality, which helps deliver on the promise of high-definition and 3D technologies.

• Touch-Sensitive: Corning Gorilla Glass helps address the issue of parallax to deliver a more precise professional tool with advanced touch alignment.

DMK has the largest optical bonding production line and full support from Corning Gorilla glass. Also, DMK has been the largest optical bonding partner of Samsung and LG Electronics mobile products.

Based on the long experience and technical advantage from DMK, M-Comp Korea offers high quality and variety size bonding service to our valuable partners.

Apex Material Group (AMT) cur-rently offer over 100 models of GFG (Glass-Film-Glass) ad-vanced resistive touchscreens. GFG touchscreens are mostly used for industrial or outdoor applications because they are designed to meet more strin-gent specifications than the standard FG (Film-Glass) resis-tive touchscreens. GFG touch products can offer high resist-ance to scratch, abrasion, and chemicals, such as sulfuric acid, diesel or kerosene.

These features are often re-quired in industrial applications of touch products. For outdoor applications, AMT offers the GFG LR (low reflective) value-added touchscreen. In their ef-forts to expand the GFG product line and meet market expecta-

tions, AMT now is also able to present 20” GFG touch products. The principle of their GFG touch panel is to add an extra layer of 0.2mm thin glass on the surface of the traditional resistive touch panel. Thus, the GFG touch panel is more scratch-resist-ant than the standard resistive products and can still be operat-ed smoothly with a gloved touch. The GFG LR (low reflective) touchscreen for outdoor touch applications adds an AR (anti-reflective) coating on the cover glass of the GFG touchscreen.

A polarizer film and retarder film is added in the middle and bottom layers, reducing the re-flectivity to around 1.5% while maintaining the light transmis-sion rate at 76% or above. The GFG LR touchscreen is a great option for handheld devices that are used outdoors, such as handheld instruments and tab-

let PC’s. Besides scratch-resist-ance, chemical resistance, and low reflectivity, touch products used in harsh environments also require EMI resistance in their design to prevent receiv-ing noise interference from the environment, as well as caus-ing interference to other instru-ments. For the purpose of EMI resistance, AMT is able to add an EMI shielding layer to the GFG LR touchscreen.

Depending on the size of the touch panel, the material of the EMI shielding layer can be ITO glass with surface resistance of 5 ohm/sq. or above, or metal mesh with resistance of 1 ohm/sq. or less.

The EMI shielding layer in both cases is added to the back of the touchscreen. If mesh is chosen by our customer as the design for the EMI shielding layer,, we can provide the mesh angle test kit from AMT to test the LCD and mesh angle to prevent negative optical effects.

SEIKO was established back in 1881, and from 1892 the produc-tion of clocks and watches. Every-body today knows about the SEIKO watches, and everybody in the electronics industry about SEIKO Instruments, that was established in 1937, and joined by a European headquarter in 1983. The quality and innovation SEIKO Instruments

stands for is well known, and have shown their value in many pro-jects over the world. Today the amount of battery driven applica-tions is growing, and this will go on for many years to come. With dif-ferent kinds of hardware reducing the power consumption, more and more handheld solutions are pos-sible. Solutions running on alter-native energy, the need to back-up data and provide measurements,

SEIKO Instruments, the power to keep you goingeven if the main supply of power can be unstable, a good battery solution is necessary. SEIKO In-struments offers different kinds of battery and capacitors, to power your solution or application. Solv-er oxide batteries and mercury free silver oxide batteries: The MS (Manganese Silicon) lithium rechargeable batteries, developed by Seiko Instruments use silicon oxide as the anode, and a lithium

manganese composite oxide as the cathode. As a result, they of-fer long cycle life and highly stable over-discharge characteristics. The SR Silver oxide battery, a line-up of high quality silver oxide bat-teries for watches small to large, quartz to digital. Since silver oxide batteries are small batteries with large electrical capacity and sta-ble voltage characteristics, they are mainly used in wristwatches. Silver oxide battery needed a small amount of mercury in order to prevent performance degrada-tion and leakage. While environ-mental concern became an issue, SEIKO Instruments started the research of mercury-free battery in 1991, in order to decrease the use of environmentally harmful substances in batteries. In 2006, SEIKO Instruments succeeded in developing mercury-free silver oxide batteries, which has equal or better characteristics than the present silver oxide battery. The XH that is a capacitor, with an ex-cellent large current discharge characteristic at least 3 V. It is an environmentally friendly product that is reflow mounted by Pb-free soldering. It features high capac-ity, and long-term reliability as well as a wide operating volt-age range. It is thus suitable for backup power supply of clock and memory functions of mobile and information devices. The Smart Lithium Ion battery modules, a high quality compact Lithium-Ion battery, best suitable for small de-vices, which require high reliabili-ty. The modules meets customer’s miniaturization requirements, and can be customized with dif-ferent options, like thermistors, cable lengths and connectors. A good battery will only stay good when the right components are used to charge, protect and man-age the solution. All these com-ponents are also available from SEIKO Instruments, and we will be happy to help you find the right components and solution for this. Next step is wireless charging, via Smart Wireless Power-Transmis-sion technology. This is under de-velopment at SEIKO Instruments, but worth to consider when start-ing a new project or a redesign.

Recom’s recently opened head-quarters has a well-equipped EMC laboratory that can be used by customers and students to solve EMC issues in their own ap-plications. The first projects have already been successfully con-cluded.

One user of the new facility was a large international manufacturer of water pumps who needed to modify a product for EMC certifi-cation. The customer’s developer came to RECOM after suspecting that the DC/DC converter might be causing the EMC problems.

Firstly, the RECOM lab reproduced the results from TÜV, the German technical watchdog, by making a reference measurement in the 3m SAR chamber. The customer then

used the room set up specifically for outside visitors to develop po-tential solutions in close consulta-tion with RECOM’s own experts. In actual fact the culprit turned out to be a ribbon cable and they managed to reduce the interfer-ing emissions to the required level using ferrites. The tests also found weaknesses in the electrical circuit that they solved by switch-ing to a four-layer design. The customer is currently working on redesigning the circuit board as a result with a much higher chance of passing the TÜV tests.

Other cases included customer is-sues that were solved without the customer being present – the ap-plications were sent to be evalu-ated in the lab.

The experienced RECOM team even managed to solve some problems by remote diagnosis –

RECOMs EMC service receives positive customer feedbacksuch as one application where the client had opted against wiring unused pins on a converter.

RECOM intends to expand on its EMC services in the future by pro-viding customers with the ground expert assistance and consul-tation in preparation for certi-

fication. Universities and other higher education institutions are welcome, especially as they often lack suitable measuring equip-ment. RECOM not only provides a place to work, but also apart-ments for outside visitors to stay the night.

Solomon Goldentek Display Corporation or SGD that was founded in Taiwan 1989, is a vendor of displays that has committed themselves to a ze-ro-defect program, allowing for improved customer solutions

and improving the speed of product to market. SGD makes displays from small to medium size, where of many is of the high brightness types, some-thing that was once a niche and that many other vendors can’t offer of the shelf. Some vendors

can offer modification of the backlight to boost it, but a de-sign where high brightness was a goal from the beginning often has an advantage.

Today the amount of systems and applications that demands sunlight readability is growing, we all see public outdoor sys-tems pop up around us, like in-formation, ATM, access control and others. This kind of systems has to be readable in all condi-tions, and the displays in them stabile both technical and when it comes to product lifetime.

SGD has a project friendly MOQ and a three year guarantee in mechanical design and inter-face, but usually the product lifetime is much longer than that.

This is important with a me-chanical design with big stabil-

High brightness of the shelfity, not only when designing and building, but also when servic-ing older systems. SGD display range goes from 3,5” to 12,1” with a 15” expected as the next step, some with normal to high brightness, and a good variety of super high brightness (800

to 1500 cd/m2) or transflective film. The backlight have a life-time between 40.000 and 60.000 hours, and the displays rated to -30 to +80 degrees both op-erating and storage, but can be modified to storage tempera-ture from -40 to +90 degrees. Both color and view angles and grey scale inversion on SGD dis-

plays, benefit from the polariz-ers and filters used, and from the bonding that’s available as an option.

SGD have a wide range of cus-tomers, some of them other dis-play vendors.

Many customers is in medico, telecom like one of the big mo-bile phone vendors, but also many car manufactures uses SGD displays because of the overall quality and the sunlight readability.

During the last years customers like Glunz & Jensen and Flex-track has arrived fast to their

market by using the platform design from Flexsolution and the displays and touch knowhow from M-Comp.

We have realized that platform based modules are the fast-est way to bring new ideas to the market, also for higher volumes. The complexibility of Hardware and Software incl. GUI, makes the time to market

in a classic design cycle long. Therefore the modular ap-proach, where the hardware is premade to support the general functions such as display, touch, LAN, CAN, RS485/232 ,Beacon 433/868 plus BT, gives a lot of benefits forward to first demo unit for the customer.

The platforms - available from Flexsolution - are based on ARM9 and Cortex2.

The GUI is mainly made by QT. The operational systems has so far been Linux.

Dental products are the latest segment where Flexsolution has delivered a total solution for the customer, including an industrial I/O board with many I/O’s which are galvanic isolat-ed.

Raspberry PI is also moving into the industrial field, says CEO Henrik Warrer and he pre-

sents his idea of a tablet based on Raspberry PI recently intro-duced called Raspitab.

We will launch the raspitab/shop in 2-3 weeks so the com-munity can buy the baseboard and display for further develop-ment. - We already have several

industrial inquiries. We think many customers likes the idea of the “community” developed elements, Henrik Warrer con-cludes.

Innovative touch technology

By: Kim Kristensen, [email protected]

As the use of touch spreads into more new and different appli-cations, new challenges often come up, depending on the spe-cific application. Apex Material Technology Corporation (AMT) is dealing with these kind of chal-lenges, and succeed in finding solutions that work, so that the functionality of your new prod-uct will be as intended.

Protect your personalinformation

As both displays and view an-gles on the displays get bigger, so does the amount of people able to view the information on the displays. In some applica-tions that’s fine, maybe even an advantage.

In other applications or systems that holds and displays personal or financial information, like at the city town hall, the hospital, the bank or at the gas stand, you would like to keep informa-tion to yourself. To do this AMT

developed a touch with built-in privacy filter, a filter that pre-vents people standing in the queue behind you or passing visual access, to the sensible in-formation displayed. The priva-cy filter reduces the view angle to 60 degrees, and the informa-tion is only visible to the person right in front of it, to all others the display will appear black.

The top surface of this Projected Capacitive touch is glass up to 2,8 mm, not only does it protect the privacy filter but also the display, something that’s often needed in a public- or semi-public application or system.

Unambiguous functionality in the rain

Many have tried an applica-tion with touch that works very randomly, due to droplets of water, or maybe doesn’t work at all. It is annoying to compete with droplets, trying to make a choice, zoom or scroll using a touch. AMT and PenMount have met this challenge and found

AMT, innovative touch technology for all applications

the solution, a solution that makes touch in applications work unambiguous, in a difficult environment. When the control-ler detects water on the touch-screen, the new firmware will be able to differentiate, between water and finger touch.

When a small amount of water is present, or flowing on the surface of the touchscreen, the new firmware will not register false touch. Also, the PCIMSet utility provides the option to au-tomatically switch off the touch functionality, when a large amount of water is detected, once the water is wiped dry, the touch functionality will resume automatically. So applications like outside public information

stands and automats, or appli-cations indoor like a carwash or at the dentist, are targets for this functionality.

Framed touch for good looks

In industrial applications func-tionality and stability is king, but it does gives a system a more professional look, to add your company’s or the customers identity to the finished product, if you add a little color. That’s why AMT now offers touch sen-sors with printed edges and logo. So far AMT offers a few colors, but more will come. The edges and corners of the Framed Touch, can be cut and grinded to different shapes.

The tail can be routed through a drilled hole on the ITO glass substrate, or a groove cut out along the edge. If your product needs to meet the IP65 water-proof rating, the design can also be customized for that. It’s pos-sible to make a bezel-free de-sign with this touch, and obtain a very different look and feel.

Just ask us at M-Comp for pos-sibilities in design and solution, we and AMT are always willing to investigate the options for the best possible result. AMT makes many other different kinds of touch-kits, so it’s difficult to im-agine an application or system, with demands that are not cov-ered by a product from AMT.

GadgetsMoney shredding alarm clock

Time is money they say, and this alarm clock proves it. It holds a money bill and starts shredding it if you ignore the alarm, that will probably get you out of bed in the morning.

You could ask yourself, what would I pay for a few minutes more, or if the next version is with a credit card shredder.

Smart bulb

When you hear the word “smart bulb,” you probably think of the

lightbulbs that you use with a smart home automation plat-form. This one is slightly dif-ferent, it’s a lightbulb that you can control remotely, and it’s a speaker too. Using the app for

iOS and Android devices, you can adjust the brightness of the light from your device into four different modes.

The wake up mode turns on the light and the music at the same time, a different kind of alarm clock.
