This is an automatic emergency light without transformer.

Light weight. It turns ‘ON’ as soon as mains cut off. It starts charging its battery as soon as

mains power restores.

The output of bridge rectifier was high voltage of around 96V.

Capacitors C1 and C2 limit the current to a safe value.

Resistor R2 limits the initial surge current and resistor R1 assists in discharging the capacitors after switch off.

Capacitor C3 is the filter capacitor. Zener Diode for 5.1V Transistor T1 is used as switch.

Can be used in villages or area of frequently power cutoff.

In decorative lights. In street lights. In study lamps. In night lamps. Use to provide lighting in mines. In any automated lightning system.

Increase the working voltage from 5v to 9v, 12v or any desirable voltage with increase in battery potential

Use of Ni-Zn battery instead of Ni-Cd battery which is environmental friendly.
