Since its establishment in 1960 our company has specialized in the production of sheet metal working machines, opting for a solution considered as innovative at that time - for the Italian market at least - and introducing hydraulic fittings, first on press brakes and subsequently on guillotine shears.As time passed SOMO improved its production, contrasting standardization and setting as main objective the manufacture of “customised” machines based on the various requirements of the user while preserving functionality in structure and developing safety and reliability.The models proposed cover a wide range of solutions :- 70 to 300 tons press brakes- Customized press brakes, 300 to 6.000 tons

- Tandem or combined bending plants up to 7.000 tons for the production of poles /pipes- 3 to 14 meters shears for thickness up to 30 mmThe introduction of numerical control systems enabled to reach very high levels of accuracy and flexibility in use. These features helped to acquire a highly varied clientele over a period of 40 years, ranging from the small mechanical workshop to the large industry, both in Italy and abroad. Therefore our Company caters for medium/big size firms seeking for high quality and productivity.Over the last 10 years Somo has focused further on the construction of automatic plants intended for the manufacture of specific products.Sale and installation of fully automatic plants designed to produce special products and completely managed by control programmes. These have been designed, carried out and optimised by Somo in order to satisfy the most different market needs.
