Real-Time Knowledge

Flexibility, Scalability and Unparalleled

Connectivity

Cirrus EIS™ is the comprehensive solution for environmental data collection, reporting, and compliance. By consolidating your compliance data acquisition and reporting, Cirrus EIS™ makes it easy to meet your corporate goals for cost-effective and proactive environmental performance.

Cirrus EIS™ addresses the full scope of monitoring, quality assurance, and reporting according to the terms and conditions of your facility’s Title V air permit. Flexible and easy to use, it captures compliance-related data in real time, while providing comprehensive notification and tracking of potential deviations. You can use Cirrus EIS™ as your facility-wide environmental information management system by also incorporating water and waste permit requirements.

Cirrus EIS™ collects emissions data from Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), Predictive Emission Monitoring Systems (PEMS), Continuous Parameter Monitoring Systems (CPMS), and other data sources. CEMS can be controlled by PLCs, which Wunderlich-Malec can provide. We also can supply PEMS – a cost-effective, software-based emissions monitoring solution. PEMS uses a statistical hybrid model to calculate pollutant emission rates in real time with excellent accuracy. The model is based on previously collected, quality-assured process and emissions data.

Cirrus EIS™ uses the Microsoft® SQL Server database engine to create a versatile emissions data model. Your reporting and data management is enhanced by visualization in categorized assets.

Cirrus EIS™ communicates directly with programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, plant historians, and other database systems. Wunderlich-Malec also programs CEMS PLCs optimized to Cirrus EIS™. From single-source CEMS to facility-wide or corporate reporting, Cirrus EIS™ is scalable with tools designed to help you with overall environmental compliance:

• CEMS/PEMS/CPMS data collection

• Permit deviation tracking

• Comprehensive alerting and notification

• Regulatory and electronic reporting

• Manual data entry

• Emissions inventory reporting

• Data replication and centralized reporting

For facility-wide compliance systems, Wunderlich-Malec will review your environmental permits and conduct a site visit to discuss compliance strategies. We survey your existing data sources and network infrastructure and identify manual data entry requirements. Then we provide a requirements specification with estimate and schedule for a full Cirrus EIS™ implementation.

Cirrus EIS™ helps you proactively meet regulatory requirements in many ways:

• Manage permit data to assess compliance

• Notify agencies of deviations in a timely manner

• Follow startup/shutdown/malfunction plans

• Report deviations semi-annually

• Certify continuous or intermittent compliance annually

• Comply with your state’s reporting procedures

New Feature Set

Optional Features

Cirrus EIS™ version 7 allows you to update and manage emissions data and is highly optimized to reduce user interaction. In addition, new features have been added that improve the user experience, including:

• New graphics and menus with world-class graphic displays and distributed control functionality.

• New CEMS maintenance and control screens, plant overview displays, and trending and alarming capabilities.

• The Cirrus EIS™ Deviation Manager provides centralized management of all permit deviations. This includes excess emissions, control equipment insufficiencies, monitor downtime, and inspection/observation requirements. You can also annotate deviation incidents with categorized reasons and corrective actions.

• The Event Editor provides convenient management of your emissions unit on-line status and parametric data integrity. The event structure provides a time-stamped audit trail of critical environmental parameters such as fuel heating values and analyzer biases. This streamlines your quarterly data management efforts when reporting is typically required.

• Adjustments with the Data or Event Editors update dependent data immediately without additional user interaction.

• Dependent data is automatically recalculated when new data is recovered from external data sources, such as laboratory information systems and backup data from PLCs and historians.

• The report interface technology creates attractive reports and several options for exporting to spreadsheets and other external programs.

• Enhancements to the data logger and calculation engine allow the programming of complex formula logic in a single step, simplifying the number of calculations required to meet compliance.

• An updated scripting language provides summary calculations, database queries, and customized data output.

Also available in Cirrus EIS™ version 7 are several optional modular features:

• The new Task Scheduler allows you to schedule permit-related tasks and activities. For example, the system automatically sends e-mail reminders and deviation escalation alerts to responsible parties.

• The all-new Cirrus EIS™ Tanks Module provides integrated configuration management tools and reporting of emissions from liquid organic storage tanks.

• Your environmental and process control staff can log into the server from convenient workstations to run reports and perform compliance and control functions at the allowed security level.
