Opportunity is everywhere.

Change is all around us, rom a global population boom and

spiraling energy costs to worldwide commoditization and climchange. The environment in which we live is rapidly shiting, athat change means opportunity. Now more than ever, designthe great competitive dierentiator.

Technology, design, and a better way

By enabling architects, designers, engineers, manuacturers, and

digital artists to create digital models o their projects, Autodeskhelps customers ully experience their ideas virtually, so they candesign in better ways. More than 9 million proessionals globallyare using Autodesk® products to save time and money, designmore sustainably, and change the way ideas are brought to lie.

Whether your workfow involves Building Inormation Modeling in architectureand construction, Digital Prototyping in automotive and manuacturing, orDigital Entertainment Creation in lm and video games, Autodesk providessotware that enables a aster, more ecient, and more iterative designprocess. More than just providing a competitive advantage to its customers,Autodesk provides the tools to help create a betterdesigned world.

Make it right. Then make it real.

Autodesk has always helped customers work more eciently.

Today, the Autodesk portolio o technologies is helping customerschange the way they work altogether.

Creating digital models and workfows enables customers to not only seetheir designs, but also see how they will work in the real world, makingincreased eciency just one o many advantages.

With the Autodesk solution or DigitalPrototyping, automotive manuacturerscan better conceptualize, model, and testdesigns beore they are ever built, bringingtogether design data rom all phases o the development process into a singledigital prototype.

How will it work?

Simulate the impact o environmentalactors on your design, such as daylightand shadow.

Modeled in Autodesk® Ecotect™ Analysissotware.

The ability to see what a project will look like beore it is built

only the beginning. Digital models can also depict how a projwill behave in the real world.

In the past, design problems were discovered only ater the design was built, resulting in costly redesign and manuacture. The ability to see what theproject will actually do beore it is created helps customers to identiy andcorrect potential deects early in the design process.

For example, a designer can analyze design concepts such as basic orm andbuilding orientation to determine the optimal location o a building basedon environmental actors such as daylight, overshadowing, solar access, andvisual impact.

How well will it work?

Where simulation captures a project’s behavior in the real wodigital model can help designers analyze that behavior and prthat project’s perormance—and then measure it.

It’s better than the real thing because manuacturers can measure the strengtho their products and how they will respond to the various stress levels o everyday use. By putting a video game controller through its paces virtually, they can break it, rebuild it, and keep doing it until it’s perect—withoutbuilding it rst.

How well will it perorm?

Aesthetics is but a small part o a design. Whether it will workas it should is another. But the ability to predict how well it wperorm and then optimize that perormance beore a projecis even built is what Autodesk oers.

Through Building Inormation Modeling and Digital Prototyping, Autodesksotware helps designers predict perormance and makes design easier andmore ecient across industries by helping customers to substantially reducematerial waste, increase energy eciency, and more accurately evaluateproject liecycles. The result is a signicant reduction in time, resources, andcosts—not to mention a betterdesigned product.

In no area is this advantage more crucial than sustainable design, wheredesigning or an environmentally responsible uture isn’t maverick thinking—it’s an essential step in the process o building and manuacture.

So whether it’s a green skyscraper with a drastically reduced carbonfootprint or the latest consumer gadget that’s made it to market 30 percentaster and with ar ewer physical prototypes, there is no aspect o thedesigned world that Autodesk sotware does not touch.

Designing what’s next

Spending nearly a halbillion dollars annually on researchand development and committed to supporting the nextgeneration o design proessionals, Autodesk remains ocusedon technological innovation and the advantages it holds orour customers.

More than 2 million students at 50,000 educational institutions are trained onAutodesk sotware every year. Autodesk is preparing tomorrow’s architects, designers, engineers, and digital artists with the sotware used by designproessionals, and helping to supply a trained and evergrowing workorce torms the world over.

As our world moves relentlessly orward and design continues to play apivotal role in how we live, work, and play, Autodesk sotware will enablethose who ace the coming challenges to do so with the most powerul andinnovative tools that today’s technology can generate, and that in turn willensure the realization o the most daring and important ideas that today’sminds can conceive.
