    1 Text should be added to a drawing whenever possible.

    2 This text could simply be a title and date, but could also be a parts list, a company title

    block, notes on costing, customer data, etc.3 AutoCAD 2007 allows the user to enter text:

    a) as short entries i.e. a single line or a few linesb) as larger entries i.e. several linesc) via a table.

    In this chapter we will consider the above text types as well as text fonts and styles, so:

    1 Open your WORKDRG saved drawing and refer to Figure 13.1.

    2 The component should be positioned as displayed relative to the point (80,110).3 Make layer TEXT current.Chapter13

    Single line of text

    1 Menu bar with Draw-Text-Single Line Text and:promptSpecify start point of text or [Justify/Style]

    4 Notes

    a) the text is displayed on the screen as you enter it from the keyboard

    b) this is referred to as dynamic text.

    Editing existing screen text

    1 Hopefully text which has been entered on a drawing is correct, but there may bespelling

    mistakes and/or alterations to existing text may be required. Text can be edited as it isbeing entered from the keyboard if the user notices the mistake.

    2 Screen text which needs to be edited requires a command.

    3 From the menu bar select Modify-Object-Text-Edit and:promptSelect an annotation object or [Undo]respondpick the TEXT EXRECISE item
