- Just a quick recap of what weve discussed last week:

1) swinging the arms during takbeeratunnecessary

2) Pronouncing the initial takbeer your salah doesnt begin

unless you actually say it

3) Difference between recital and thinking/imagining [fardh to recite]

*note: Hanafis are of the opinion that in jamaat you remain silent..say

the tasbeehat etc

4) Latecomer saying takbeer and going straight into ruku for jamah

5) say the opening Allahu Akbar as soon as the imam completes it,descends for the sajda as soon as the imam is in sajdaDONT GET

AHEAD OF THE IMAM. Your salah becomes invalid.

- Discuss Itminaancontent, calm in your prayers. Imam Shafi said it

is fard, whereas Imam Abu Hanifa said it is waajibwhich means you

have to do sajdah sahw. The Prophet said: When you start your prayer,

say Allahu Akbar, recite whatever of the Quran then make your ruku

until youve become reposed [MOTIONLESS], then raise yourself untilyou are fully straight,then make sajdah until you are fully reposed, and

then sit down until you are fully tranquil in your sitting DO WE DO

THAT?!

- some people even manage to do tasbeeh while going into ruku, one

while in ruku, and then one while getting upmeaning doing the salah

so fast that you mix parts of salah into others.

- the Prophet would emphasize straightening of the

rowsusually the first row is good and the others behind it are

lackingits really important to line up properlynow with some

people they take the position of joining feet and go to the extreme and

play follow the foot this is wrong. You are messing up your own

postureeven when they pray alone, there feet will be wide, you end up

focusing more on the feet and forget completely about the

shoulders.theres one Hadith that mentions toes touching and that wasat the BEGINNING of salah and not WHILE IN SALAH....others take

the position of joining shouldersnow what happens, especially with

joining shoulders is that no one actually does it! Well see so many times

that people leave gaps.

- another issue that we see, is that sometimes people are praying salah

and their shirt is a bit small and their pants too bigso what happens is

that when they go into sajdahyou get a glimpse of the grand canyon.

- the fuqaha have mentioned that it is makruh to play salah in any

clothing which you wouldnt like to be seen in publicwe should TRY

to wear sunnah clothing when we pray, especially for Jumuah.

- Another issue is tight clotheswe know that the body should be

covered..the satr strictlynowadays guys wear tight jeans and women

wear legging and skinny jeansso this is makrukto pray salah inthose clothes because although the satr is covered, the form is

showing

- Yet again another issue, is people go into sajdah and for some reason

they pick their feet upif your feet stay up from the moment you are in

sajdah to the time you get up, then your sajdah is invalid!
