  • About AUTM Asia 2015

    Malaysian Technology Development Corporation or MTDC, is a company wholly-owned by Khazanah Nasional Malaysia which has been involved in the business of Grant Management, Incubation, Nurturing Services, as well as Advisory and Value Added Services. Established in 1992, its goal was to promote the adoption of technologies developed by local companies through the commercialisation activities of local inventions or acquisition of foreign technologies.

    As the spearheading element in commercialisation and managing of Government funds since the 7th Malaysia plan (1996-2000), MTDC has established a strong reputable image as a key player in Malays moting Technology-based companies.

    Under the 10th Malaysia Plan (2011-2015), MTDC was tasked the role of creating an effective ecosystem for the commercialisation activities of home-grown technologies in order to groom a new generation of Technopreneurs via comprehensive nurturing services which will facilitate them all the way from laboratory ideas to full commercialisation stage.

    The right mix of dedication, knowledge, technology, innovation, conviction, support, investments and nurturing makes MTDC the COMPLETE EQUATION creating values and accelerating the economic growth for the nation.

    Optional Programme9 April 2015, 3-6pm - Kuala Lumpur Heritage TrailKuala Lumpur Heritage Trail will be a walk of about two to three hours through the historic facet of Kuala Lumpur. There will be many famous colonial-era landmark buildings built from as early as 1864, with distinctive architectural style mogul, eclectic art deco and English gothic, that will bring you back to the years when Kuala Lumpur was but a bustling tin mining area. Do you know that the Clock Tower in Kuala Lumpur was built to commemorate the coronation of King George VI in 1937? Join us in the walk into Kuala Lumpurs glorious past, and get mesmerised by the masterpiece work of the likes of A.B Hubback and A.C Norman.

    10 April 2015, 8am to noon - Rumble in the JungleRumble in the Jungle will be a break away from the city into the lush green of the biggest and oldest man-made forest in the world located within the compound of the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), in Kepong. Experience the splendor sight of crown shyness phenomenon exhibited by camphor trees (Dryobalanops aromatica) and get giddy 300m above sea level as you walk through the canopy walkway. A word of caution to city-dwellers be careful not to wake the sleeping elephant (the sitting elephant is a nickname accorded to a medium hardwood tree that looks eerily like an elephant at rest.)! End the walk with your feet cooled and massaged in pristine water running from a small waterfall while the orchestra of the forest treats you to an audio feast.
