“Rail Fun Day continues to be one of SFRTA’s most eagerly anticipated signature events. It combines the excitement of a train ride with numerous activities for families to enjoy together. Every year it just keeps getting bigger and better and of course it helped that Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous winter day,” said Jack Stephens, SFRTA Executive Director.

The free community celebration was once again held at Tri-Rail’s Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach, which contains a parking garage that helped accommodate the crowd. Yet, most people opted to take the train as was clearly indicated by the record Saturday ridership for the commuter rail system.
