The  conference  theme:  ITS  Time:  Information  Technology  in  Schools  Time.    

The   conference   examines   the   diverse   ways   that   ICT   can   maximise  each   student's   potential   through   their   personal   learning   styles.     It  investigates   how   ICT   can   allow   all   people   including   those   with  diverse   skills   and   thinking   strategies   become   lifelong   creative  learners.

Welcome   to   Perth   and   ACEC2012.    As   many   of   you   know   this  conference  brings   together  educators   from  all  states  and  territories  in   Australia   who   join   with   educators   from   all   over   the   world.   Our  four   days   together   are   a   time   of   networking,   discussion,  presentations,   workshops,   forums,   laughter   and   celebration.   This  conference,   like   other   ACEC   conferences   before   it,   will   launch   new  products,   challenge  participants  with  new  educational   thinking  and  provide   presenters   with   an   opportunity   to   showcase   what   is  happening   in   their   learning   environments,   in   their   research   and   in  national   and   international   education   policy.   As   you  will   observe   as  you   work   through   the   program,   planning   your   sessions   and  activities,   the   choice   the   ECAWA   conference   program   team   has  provided   is   diverse   in   offerings  with   a   breadth   of   content   that  will  cater   for   many   needs   and   interests.     On   behalf   of   The   Australian  Council   for  Computers  in  Education,   let  me  thank  you  for  joining  us  here  in  Perth  and  let  me  challenge  you  to  make  sure  that  you  make  the  most  of  your  days  at  ACEC2012.    Tony  Brandenburg  President,  ACCE.
