Australian Concrete Posts

ACP’s prestressed concrete fence posts are made using special materials, methods and manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and strength. THE CONCRETE… ACP use a consistent and certi-fied mix of concrete which is vibrated and cured. It contains a high ratio of evenly distribut-ed strong blue metal stone, sand and cement. Plus there is no lime in the concrete, there-fore, no rusting of the wire strands. THE WIRE… 5.05mm high tensile strands with large amounts of carbon. This allows the strands to be tensioned and also prevents the wire from rusting. The reinforc-ing is not like 10mm mild steel used on house footings and other concrete posts, which you may have seen explode when moisture has seeped into the posts causing it to rust. ACP post will NOT do this. Read on to find out why. PRESTRESSED… Prestressing is a technology that’s used to build massive civ-il structures, like bridges and bridge pylons which can be seen being rammed into the

earth on new roadworks. Essentially, high tensile strands of wire are pretensioned un-der several tonnes of stress. When the concrete is set in the mould, the tension is re-leased from the strands, com-pression pulls the concrete to-gether to form a very strong and impenetrable post. BRACKETS… The whole fencing process has been designed to be like a “Meccano” set – hit it in, and bolt it together. Generally, no replacement of posts will be required. The Driving Cap holds a layer of 20mm

rubber in place. The layer of rubber pad-

ding inside minimises impact on post.

*Refer to ACP Product Handling Guides for recommended methods for driving

and pulling wires through posts.

The prestressed concrete fence post is

designed for tough conditions and are drivea-

ble with a standard post driver.

Percussion drivers, pneumatic drivers and

standard thumper are all able to be used to

drive the concrete fence post.

ACP recommend that a thick rubber material

be used to cushion the direct impact on top

of the post when driving them in. ACP have

developed a driving cap to be placed on top

of the post. Before ramming in hard ground

we recommend a pilot hole.*

Predrilled Holes

For the property owner and fencing contractors,

no time is wasted measuring and drilling holes,

or maintaining equipment. Our fence posts are

uniform and consistent in size and shape, the

holes are pre-drilled to suit four or five barb

wires. Strainers have holes for Gate Kits too!

Yes, concrete posts are suitable to use with heavy gauge

wire. Pull wires one at a time through the predrilled

holes or simply tie on mesh and plain wire.*
