Most of our students attend regularly but there is a large number who do not. Students who do not attend school regularly tend to have lower rates of success and are more likely to drop out of school early. Every day at school contributes to learning. There is no safebottom line for not coming to school. A lot of damage is likely to occur when students are absent for long periods of time. We have learned over time that lower rates of school attendance and disengagement from school can be linked to unemployment, lower income, riskier health behaviour and contact with justice authorities. Not completing school can restrict a students future opportunities, including their ability to fully participate in social, civic and working life in almost every aspect. Be the best that you can be and get your children to school every day and on time. AUSSIE OF THE MONTH Mrs Ingham from C1 organises our Aussie of the Month Program. The award promotes kindness, care and respect for each other and the Planet Earth. Students are voted for by their peers in the classroom. This month the awards went to Levi Corpus, Zachary Clarke and Zoe Mackenzie. Congratulations to these proud citizens of Swan View Primary School.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance at schools is fundamental to student learning. Most of our students attend regularly but there is a large number who do not. Students who do not attend school regularly tend to have lower rates of success and are more likely to drop out of school early. Every day at school contributes to learning. There is no “safe” bottom line for not coming to school. A lot of damage is likely to occur when students are absent for long periods of time.

We have learned over time that lower rates of school attendance and disengagement from school can be linked to unemployment, lower income, riskier health behaviour and contact with justice authorities.

Not completing school can restrict a student’s future opportunities, including their ability to fully participate in social, civic and working life in almost every aspect.

This program is devoted to encouraging students to walk, roll or ride to school instead of being ferried in a car. Thanks to Miss Bri and her tremendous efforts in organising

activities and posting stories on the Department of Transport Website. She has earned $7499.00 towards a secure place for bikes and scooters to be locked up.

Well done, Miss Bri

10 Good reasons to visit the canteen

1. Healthy, Foods are based on the Australian guide to healthy eating. All processed food and drinks must meet a nutrient standard and have appropriate serving sizes.

2. Thermomix, A great addition to the Canteen. Having the thermomix means more meals made from scratch, therefore limiting the number of additives and preservatives.

3. Learning Experience, Children learn to make their own food choices and gain experience in handling money.

4. Gives mum a break, from making lunches every day

5. Affordable, recess items are from 20c to $2.00. and lunch items are from $2.5 to $6.00

6. Seasonal, menu is set to the seasons

7. Variety, lots of food to choose from and new recipes tried often.

8. Friendly Service, we love seeing your smiling faces.

9. Support our School, keep this important service going.

10. Volunteer, good company, coffee and a free lunch.

Your Move Program

Around the School

The students in

EC5 had a

collection of

counters and had to

show halves,

quarters and

eighths.

EC5 with their

art work of a

wattle tree.

B3 spent a most enjoyable day at the zoo last

week, and this week they were lucky enough

to have an encounter with a live snake!

Once again this year our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart– a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program by the Heart Foundation.

Jump Rope for Heart is a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.

Father’s Day Stall A huge thank you to the P & C for organising a wonderful Father’s Day stall last Friday. There were many fantastic gifts available for purchase. We hope fathers had a memorable day.

Swan View Cricket Club For any students who are interested in playing cricket this summer, Swan View Cricket Club is offering several programs for primary school children. The Blasters programs are very similar to the one Mr Peterson has now stopped providing at school as they are intended to be run by cricket clubs.

Masters Blasters 7-10 yr olds

They will be held on Friday afternoons 5-6pm in term 4 this year and term 1 next year at Brown Park, around the corner from our school:

19th November– 17 December and 11 February—11 March 2022

Junior teams are available for older students 10-12yr olds

Kidsport funding is available for pensioners and health care card holders.

To register your child, go to play.cricket.com.au and search for SWAN VIEW CRICKET CLUB then select Junior Blasters, Master Blasters or Junior club cricket.
