Implementation of the Rockhampton – Melbourne SDH digital Microwave Communication System – NTLT Ltd

Under contract to Tenix Alliance Pty Ltd, AUSSICOM assisted in the implementation of a digital microwave system from Rockhampton Queensland to Melbourne Victoria. This 155Mbit N+1 radio system was completed over a 6-month period involving more than 90 sites. Aussicom tasks involved the installation; of mounts, dishes, feeders; panning of dishes and XPD optimisation; testing, of antenna and feeder systems, SDH radio commissioning and site QA inspections. Several structures required extensive modification and most sites were remotely located. The external tower work was conducted during the extreme conditions encountered in winter. AUSSICOM utilised its own staff and equipment to successfully complete our section of the project within the contracted timescales. The system is fully operational.

Implementation of the Townsville – Brisbane SDH digital Microwave Communication System – Telecasters Aust Ltd

Under contract to NEC, Aussicom installed, commissioned and tested a 27-hop, NEC3000 6+1 155Mbit radio system for Telecasters Australia between Brisbane and Townsville in Queensland.

The tasks involved; site survey; installation of equipment, installation of dishes and feeders; panning of dishes and XPD optimisation; testing, antenna and feeder systems, testing of supervisory, SDH radio commissioning and site QA inspections. An additional bearer was added to this system after the primary bearers went in traffic.

Technical Services provided for the Telstra EMOS upgrade in Melbourne and Auswide – Siemens Aust/ Telstra Aussicom staff operating in critical areas of the transmission network to upgrade the Telstra Network with the latest software versions.

Installation of 17-hop radio system – Queensland Rail This project consisted of 2 six hop and one 5 hop system located in remote parts of Queensland. The equipment used was Siemens SRT radio in a 1+1 configuration. Installation and Commissioning of SDH and PDH transmission equipment for the Hutchison 3G mobile phone network-Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane-Siemens Ltd AUSSICOM was contracted by Siemens to perform installation, commissioning, upgrade, Decommissioning, and refurbishment of Siemens Equipment and NEMS equipment including SDH & PDH microwave links. Work involved the overall rollout of Siemens equipment required for the Transmission Network for the UMTS between the Node B and the 3G MSC sites. Installation and Commissioning a 43 Hop digital radio system -HydroElectric Commission of Tasmania

Aussicom installed and commissioned a 43 Hop digital radio system for the HydroElectric. Commission of Tasmania including all of the site inspection and pre-design works. Construction works included erection of antenna mounts, dishes and feeders, panning and sweeping of antenna systems, installation and testing of NEC 970 and Mitec radio equipment, NEC NE2000 mux equipment and NEC supervisory system. The mux configuration for this system was critical. Each circuit was fully protected. All circuits were tested extensively over primary and secondary routes. Many of sites for this project were located in remote parts of Tasmania requiring all wheel drive vehicles and trucks.

Aussicom was involved in Construction of Greenfield mobile phone sites and refurbishment of existing sites. The project included full civil construction of mobile phone poles, Towers and associated buildings/ enclosures, and extensions to existing poles and rooftop locations.

Aussicom carries out preventative, emergency maintenance and general maintenance inspections of communication equipment.

Maintenance inspection and reporting to communication structures including upgrades to steel work, foundations, rust treatment, inspection of mounts, earthing, and guy wires.

Some examples of our work in the maintenance area include: - Maintenance and Replacement of Radio Structures on the Telstra Network -ABB Ltd & Telstra Advanced Services Under contract to ABB and Telstra, Aussicom provided maintenance services to Telstra radio structures in the Torres Strait Islands and Remote sites in Northern Queensland. Work involved removing rust, repainting, and replacement of steel work, replacement of torque stabilisers, replacement and Re-tensioning of guys on live radio structures. The towers and masts were up to 105mts in height.
