Network News The PPC Board of Directors voted May 28 to join the first pediatric Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in Texas, the Physician Quality Alliance (PQA). Additionally, the PQA reached an agreement with the Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance (BSWQA) through which PPC members who opt into participation are given access and Tier I reimbursement for approximately 17,000 pediatric patients from Baylor’s own health plan. The BSWQA also plans to expand this offering to other employers, expecting to reach around 36,000 patients in 2015. The PPC board recommends participation for the following reasons: Participation may expand your network as the BSWQA grows. Patients joining from affiliated partners are expected to reach 36,000 patient lives in 2015. This offer has no effect on your current contracted Payor Agreement and reimbursement rate, and it reduces covered patients’ out-of-pocket costs by accessing care from a Tier 1 provider, because the employer will pay a higher portion of the physician fee. Participation with this highly regarded organization positions your practice as a thought leader in the DFW market. Data from this network will be used in efforts to improve quality and reduce patient costs, and it provides the future opportunity to participate in quality-based incentive programs. There are no risks or additional fees associated with participation outside of the monthly PPC membership fee. Network News

The PPC Board of Directors voted May 28 to join the first pediatric Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in Texas, the Physician Quality Alliance (PQA).

The PPC board recommends participation for the following reasons:

Participation may expand your network as the BSWQA grows.

For information on how to opt-in to the BSWQA, please contact Cherie Johnston at 214-957-2307

Vaccine purchasing PPC has selected CHA/Provista as its group purchasing organization (GPO), which includes the opportunity to purchase vaccines at a discount. CHA/Provista was selected after PPC leaders reviewed proposals from three GPO programs.

PPC members also may elect to purchase other products and services through CHA/Provista. Some of these additional opportunities may include office supplies, medical supplies and document destruction. The agreement with CHA/Provista lasts through 2015.
