Some examples of what Clubs

did for the Challenge this

year

Hi

Well, what an exciting month this is shaping up to be. The Spring show is almost upon us.

(Smell those Speciosums already) Lots of people have been hard at work promoting and

organising this so let’s all as a club get involved it promises to be a lot of fun and well

worth the effort.

Speaking of having fun and being well worth the effort, how many of the club got to the

Challenge. Wasn’t it fabulous? The effort that went in to the displays and range of plants

was stupendous. Not to mention wallet draining, well, for me anyway. I would have liked

to stay overnight and attend the dinner as I have done before but circumstances didn’t al-

low for that, so I missed out on the fun bit. Never mind Bunbury is hosting next year so

hopefully, I’ll make up for it then.

On the list of coming events for the Society is the Sarc Display in October which is now go-

ing to be held at Centrepoint being as the Forum have been taken over by new manage-

ment who seem than co-operative. I am hoping that my Sarc’s will have pulled their col-

lectives out and will be in flower by then. It will be a first time me to show off my babies

so look out, Rick. (joking, of course.)

Had a lovely day Saturday 15th at John Palmer's field day. If you missed it you missed

some great orchids and some excellent pizzas. Thank-you to John and Sandy for opening

their orchid houses and pizzeria to all of us.

For Sale—Speciosiums in bud and flower, please contact Judy on 0427 310 146

Just a reminder to everyone, because of the Spring Show, there is no meeting for Septem-

ber.

Anyone who can help out with providing food and/or helping in the kitchen at the Spring

Show please call Margaret Nelson on 9734 3132 after hours.
