We are in the Dog Days of Summer. Better known as "Hot as Hell". I was unable to enjoy the ice cream social, was busy taking my daugh-ter to ABIA. I am sure things will get back on track as the temp starts to drop. Old cars, old men and sweat do go together. See you at the meeting at the Marble Falls Li-brary on August 11th. Bob

Howdy All Y'all LARC members, It's that time again, yup, time for me to update y'all on what has happened since the last Library meeting, yeah I know it's been awhile. I almost don't remember what was last rittin. Stuff we Did Let's start with the Briggs Car Show, we met up at the Shell Gas Station in Burnet and toured together to the thrivin Metropolis that is Briggs TX. easy trip if you ran with the GROUP but some went lone wolf. (how bout them lowater crossins?) like Bennie an Mary Ellen and the Webers piloted by Capt. Don, hmmm. Anyway the club as a whole did well in the Awards dept. But the best Award givin out I believe was David and Ofelia capturing the most funnest backseat award !!!! Gotta love that spashus interior of that purdy blu car. On July 4th. we met at the Aqua Boom Festival, this was our 4th. annual and was the biggest yet, even though there wasn't a Gor -met Hot Dawg Pot Luck cause the event went from noonish til 3:00 ish. the event had lots of vehicles from boats to golf carts. we all had a great time. some of the lucky ones even had some FREE Purdy Dam good BBQ samiches hand made and special delivered from Hank's ol skool BBQ. 830-265-0891 jus sayin. then it was off to Marble Falls for the second half of our 4th. of July activatees. we had, here we go again Special LARC parking at the Pavilion with our very own tent, table an chairs or if you wanted, a reserved air conditioned seatin area inside to watch the festivities goin on. Between Kingsland an Marble Falls we lost many of our club members ???? but the ones who made it had a good time.not all of us stayed for the fireworks but I understand it was Spectacular. On July 11th. we toured over to the Omni Hotel for the Kop's an Rodder's Car Show, we had real good parkin under some nice shady trees with a little breeze. good show for a 1st. timer, we think it will be better next year, we didn't stay for Awards, to many things goin on. July 24,25 and 26th. Fredericksburg's swap meet in the heat was attended by lots of our club mem-bers. more people visiting this year than usual, I heard it's been sold so don't know what's goin to happen next year, have to wait and see. On July 26th. yurz truly became a Granpa for the 1st. time, I know, I know, y'all think i'm to darn yung for that but it's true< My baby daughter had a little baby girl, I'm gonna call her Princess Ava. real name, Ava Marga-ret Neves, 7lbs 2oz. 20.5 long. I'm a happy guy. Alrighty stuff commin up, First Sat. of the month (Aug. 1) cruise ins at Storms in Marble Falls at 6: ish or drive all the way to Top Notch Burgers on 7525 Burnet Rd. at 6:00?? not much to think of here, yur pick, see most of you at Storms... Sunday Aug. 2, Leander from 10-1pm. August 7th. Friday Night Fever at Cecil's, in Burnet, as usual some of us will meet at Bill's Burgers, Wings an Things at 3:30 - 4:pm. Then we have some same day choices on Aug.1st. Then On the Lake Aug. 7th. - 9th. Marble Falls for Drag Boat Racin and the Good-lookin Deb-in-air Irl Unruh says we can't miss the boat light um off party, actually Irl said PARTY ON PEOPLE !!! details to follow. Aug. 11th. 7 pm. is our monthly club meetin back at the Library. Some of us are meetin at Bill's in Mar-ble Falls before hand for food and lickwids...

EDITOR’S CORNER

Amber didn’t submit any minutes for this issue, so I guess that none were taken at the Ice Cream Social. That’s probably a good thing, Why have to work at recording notes at such a fun function as the event that Kelly and Marie Misfeldt hosted? Judy and I weren’t able to attend, but judging from the pictures, it looks like a good time was had by all, and the ice cream looked delicious.

Thanks to Ron Adwers for taking pictures of our events, and I know I’m prejudiced, but the picture of Irl’s little dog looking out the window of that beautiful old Chevy pickup is one of the cutest I’ve seen in a while. That’s a beautiful wooden hull boat as well. We had one like it in our family when I was a teenager. Having access to a beautiful boat like than when you are 17 to 22 almost beats having a ’Vette. Skimpy bathing suits on girls were mandatory when they stepped aboard. They looked great on water skis as well, and ’Vettes can’t get you to islands in the middle of the Columbia River where the beautiful beaches and beer were. Boats and babes, what memories. When Judy stepped aboard in her teeny weeny bikini, it was lights out for me!! Night cruises on the Colombia, and lots of shiny chrome fittings and mirror-like varnish on mahogany. Thanks Dad, I never put a scratch on her (the boat).

Mark has a full list of upcoming ac tiv itees (his spelling, not mine) for August and September. Judy and I have our Sun Block, shade hats, and long-sleeve shirts for these events. Remember, keep covered, and drink lots of fluids (non-alcoholic—we’ll save those for later). We don’t want our beautiful ladies damaging their peaches and cream complexions in this hot Texas sun.

Grandpa Mark??? Guess he’s gettin’ old too. Welcome to the old forts club.

Top Notch Burgers, 7525 Burnet Road. What city is that in???? Us snaggle toothed hillbillies who live out in the boonies of Oatmeal, Texas (so far out we don’t even have a zip code) don’t know if that is Burnet Road in Austin or some other town. Is it Lampasas, Lometa, Zephyr, Goldthwaite, Round Mountain, Lake Victor??
