B (breakfast) L (lunch) D (dinner)Sunday August 30th – We depart from St. Louis, MO in the morning to connect to the overnight transatlantic flight to Warsaw. Dinner and breakfast served aboard.

Monday, August 31st – Upon arrival in Warsaw this morning, we are met by our guide who escorts us to our motor coach. We then head to a Roman Catholic church located in Warsaw; it is the center of the Divine Mercy and St. Faustina Parish. From 1863 to 1944 the building served as internal chapel within the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy monastery compound; destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising, it remained a ruin until the early 21st century, when it was brought to the current shape. The church and its immediate surroundings gained nationwide iconic status in the 1980’s. Here our opening Mass will be celebrated. Soon after, we have lunch on our own. After our Lunch we check into our Hotel. Dinner will be at our hotel. D Warsaw

Tuesday, September 1st – After a restful sleep and breakfast, we go to Saint Stanislaus Kostka Church. Here, we have our Daily Mass. It is the most significant church of Żoliborz, a district of Warsaw. The parish was created in 1927 and in 1930 construction work started on the monumental neo romanesque church building, it was interrupted by World War II, and was finished in 1963. The church is the well-known Sanctuary of Blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko, who was the spiritual leader of Solidarność and was killed by the Communists in 1984. Here we are able to visit the exhibition of this martyred Priest. From 1980, he conducted very popular Masses for the Fatherland that became a kind of manifesto for the social movement and protesters, attracting people from all around Poland. This is also the place of his burial and his tomb is situated beside the church. The site was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1987. Soon after, we have a guided tour of Warsaw including: Umschlagplatz Memorial, The Ghetto Heroes Monument, the Palace of culture, Barbican, Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Market Square, Royal Palace and Royal Palace Square, St. Anna Church. After Lunch on our own, our sightseeing concludes at Lazienki Park with its beautiful gardens, Chopin’s Monument and the Palace on the water. Soon we return to our Hotel for dinner.

Wednesday, September 2nd – After breakfast we journey not far from Warsaw, to the Franciscan Friary founded by Saint Maximilian Kolbe. It was begun at a time when anti-Catholic rhetoric was at its height, leading up to the Communist revolution in Russia in 1917. Saint Maximilian decided to fight back, and on October 16, 1917 he and six others formed a group calling themselves the Knights of the Immaculata. His goal was to form a place in honor of the Immaculate Virgin. Obtaining land from Prince Jan Drucki-Lubecki, he was able to construct the monastery and it was consecrated on December 7, 1927. Here, we have the opportunity to Celebrate Holy Mass at the Franciscan Monastery of Niepokalanow. After, we trek towards Glogowiec to visit her Birthplace of St. Faustina. Thereafter, we drive to Swinice Warckie to visit the Shrine of the Birth & Baptism of St. Faustina. Enroute to Częstochowa, we stop for brief lunch on our own. Arrive and check into our Hotel and have dinner together. B & D Czestochowa

Thursday, September 3rd – In the morning we have our breakfast, then check out. Today we visit Jasna Gora Monastery. Here we Celebrate Holy Mass. The Monastery is a famous Polish shrine to the Virgin Mary. The image of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa, also known as Our Lady of Częstochowa, to which miraculous powers are attributed, is one of Jasna Góra's most precious treasures. Among the monastery's other treasures and artifacts of interest is the medal from the 1983 Nobel Peace Prize received by Lech Wałęsa, the former Polish president and trade-union organizer. After our tour and devotions, we stop for an early lunch on our own, then drive to Auschwitz, and visit the Nazi concentration camp, which took the lives of countless thousands, including St. Maximilian Kolbe. In an act of selfless love, the great saint offered himself as a replacement for a fellow condemned prisoner. After, we

drive to a small town to one of Poland’s foremost sanctuaries. It comprises a Baroque basilica under the invocation of Our Lady of the Angels, where there is a venerated miraculous painting of the Kalwaria Madonna. After our visitation, we are a short distance to our Hotel in Krakow were we check in for a couple of nights. B & D Krakow

Friday, September 4th - After we rise & have breakfast, we travel to Wawel Cathedral to Celebrate Holy Mass at St. Leonard’s Crypt located under the Cathedral. We then have a guided tour of Krakow. Starting with Wawel Hill: Royal Castle and Cathedral. We Continue Kanonicza Street with ’Papal Window’ to Market Square and then visit St. Mary’s Church. After our busy morning, we have lunch on our own. Thereafter, we traverse to Lagiewniki to visit Divine Mercy Sanctuary. The Divine Mercy Shrine is a Roman Catholic basilica dedicated to the Divine Mercy devotion, as the resting place of Saint Faustina Kowalska. Three Popes have visited the shrine. Our final quest of the day is the Wieliczka Salt Mine, in the town of Wieliczka. From Neolithic times, sodium chloride (table salt) was produced there from the upwelling brine. The Wieliczka salt mine, excavated from the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest operating salt mines. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its attractions include the shafts and labyrinthine passageways, displays of historic salt-mining technology, an underground lake, four chapels and numerous statues carved by miners out of the rock salt. Saturday, September 5th - After breakfast, we check out and head to the ‘Have No Fear!’ John Paul II Centre (the official name of which refers to his famous words during his inauguration speech) The primary highlights for visitors are the Sanctuary of Blessed John Paul II - a chapel with relics of the former pope, including a vial of his blood. Soon we are on the road to Wadowice. Here we have our daily Mass at the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After, we visit Pope John Paul II Family Home and Museum. We have lunch on our own, then drive to the foothills of the Tatra Mountains, where peasants still live in wooden houses and bears roam wild in the forests. We marvel at the superb vistas as we reach Zakopane, gateway to Poland’s most popular ski areas. Saint Pope John Paul II skied here. We have a guided tour, then we we will take a cable car up Mt. Gubalowka for a great view of the Tatras, central Europe’s highest mountains. We check in to our hotel in Zakopane and enjoy dinner together this evening. B & D Zakopane

Sunday, September 6th - After a restful sleep and breakfast, a beautiful new church, Our Lady of Fatima, richly decorated with hand carved wood by the town’s folk in gratitude to God for saving the Pope from an assassination attempt, is the place for our celebration of Holy Mass. Pope John Paul II dedicated this shrine in 1989. After our Mass, we travel to Budapest, where on the way we will stop for Lunch on our own. Upon reaching the Capitol of Hungary, we check into our hotel for a dinner and 2 night stay. B & D Budapest

Monday, September 7th - This morning we start our quest to The Primatial Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary Assumed Into Heaven and St Adalbert, also known as the Esztergom Basilica, which is considered, the mother church of the Archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest, and the seat of the Catholic Church in Hungary. It is dedicated to the Saint Mary of the Assumption and Saint Adalbert. It is the largest church and the tallest building in Hungary. We then drive to Szentendre Square where this picturesque riverfront community just north of Budapest appears essentially unchanged from hundreds of years ago; its Baroque steeples parade heavenward along the hilly town’s tree-jutted skyline while its colourful stone cottages reflect in the Danube below. Here we have time for lunch on our own and exploring. One of the highlights of the day is a cruise on the Danube from Szentendre to Budapest. Upon disembarking the ship, we are taken to St. Matthias Church for our Daily

After the expulsion of the Turks the interior was redesigned between 1635 and 1650 by the Italian master Giovanni Battista Rava in the early Baroque style. The cathedral obtained in 1997 the status of Minor Basilica, awarded by Pope John Paul II. After, we have lunch on our own, then continue towards Vienna.
