He’s definitely preferring the air conditioning or the pool right now, and I know you are, too! Our leadership team is starting to sizzle, too! I’m honored to announce that we’ve promoted two members of our team: • Mel Walters is our new Life Enrichment Director, responsible for leading and organizing our social, physical, spiritual and intellectual activities. As one of our lead nursing assistants, Mel’s been involved in all of our activities since we opened our doors, and she’s a person we rely on for her great energy and organizational skills. • Nurse Shameen Hamid has been promoted to our Director of Nursing, after serving as a nurse since our beginning. Shameen is now responsible for managing the overall systems and process of keeping on top of your health needs, especially those of you receiving assisted and memory care services. What I’ve learned over time is that this is a big job behind-the-scenes, making sure we’re on track not only with what you need but with all of the state and national best practices we follow. You might remember what it was like to be promoted into a new opportunity—I certainly do! I know these amazing women can count on your encouragement, support, and wisdom as they step into these roles. Please don’t hesitate to stop them and tell them congrats. September’s right around the corner, and with it comes our first anniversary! Mark Friday, September 15th on your calendar! It’s been my honor to be here from the start, like many of you.
