Direct Object Direct Object Receives the action

of a verb. It answers the question whom? Or what?

After an action verb Example: I gave a

gift to you. Example: Peeta

gave the bread to Katniss.

Indirect Object Indirect Object The person or thing

that receives the direct object.

Example: I sent a letter to my cousin.

Example: Santa gave me a really awesome present.

Subject-Verb Agreement

Subject-Verb Agreement

If the subject is plural, the verb should indicate that. If the subject is singular, the verb should also indicate that.

A collective noun is treated as singular subject.

Example: We (are/is) playing a game.

Example: They (have been/has been) expecting a velociraptor.

Example: The school of fish (are/is) swimming toward the ocean.

Slap That!

and has to slap the verb that agrees with the subject. The fastest person to slap the CORRECT verb will earn a point for their team. Slap the wrong verb, and you lose a point.
