8/22/2011 Purdue Men's Club Soccer Callout and Info Session 2

Play Competitive Fall Season in MASC Conference

10 League Games, 6 Away; 1 Friendly against IU

Practice: at least 3 nights a week to play that weekend

Chances to play on indoor and competitive (FCI) teams through winter and spring


Play several games during fall against reserve teams (currently 4 scheduled)

Practice: 2 Days a week can workout with Gold team, 2 days scrimmaging (No requirements)

Chances to play on indoor teams throughout winter and spring


Anybody who loves soccer (no cuts!) Gold Team: Physically fit players willing to fit

into a system and play a team game. Players who can dedicate 2 hours 3 days a week and game time on weekends

Black Team: Anybody looking to play more than pickup games (or even just pickup games) and be part of a team


A place to practice and play

Coaching by a paid coach with Varsity D1 playing experience and high school coaching experience

Transportation and lodging for away games

Community Service events count for points (eg – Dance Marathon 50 pts, 1 lb of food for Food Finders 3 pts)

Each player must have 15 pts by January 1st to be eligible to play indoor with team

Each player must have 25 pts by May 15th to be eligible to play next year

Player with most points by May 15th will win a Champions League ball ($130)


All eligible members must take online drivers’ tutorial

Team splits are not final, every week coach can pull players up from Black team

All members must sign waiver (international students’ insurance is accepted)

All members must take a quick quiz over member handbook at end of season


Monday 8/22 – Sign-in after callout, run and stretch Rest of the week: 6–8pm, Intramural Fields Tuesday 8/23 – Fitness Test (Beep Test) Wednesday 8/24 – Small Sided Games Thursday 8/25 – Tryouts with coach Friday 8/26 – Tryouts with coach Saturday 8/27 – Splits announced, Alumni Game 5:00

Beep Test

Series of beeps at decreasing time intervals

Must run 20m before next beep

Highest level achieved after missing two beeps in a row is taken as score

Must score 8.5 or higher

Highest score skips one of next two tests (situps and pushups)

Situps (at least 100) Pushups (at least 50)


Come to computers at front of room and sign up
