Hello UWA Sisters,

Welcome back to the 2019-20 academic year at

the University of Oklahoma. We are planning our

Fall Membership Event at the Devon Energy Hall

on the OU campus, on Sunday August 25 at 2:00.

Members can renew their membership and visit

with representatives of the Special Interest

Groups which meet throughout the year.

Our guest speaker for the event will be Dr. Kathe-

rine Moxley, from the Stephenson Cancer Re-

search Center at the OUHSC in Oklahoma City.

Her topic will be ‘Advances in Ovarian Cancer Re-

search.’

This year marks a milestone for the University

Women’s Association, as we are celebrating our

70th year anniversary! Our main goal is to pro-

mote fellowship for our members, and to provide

financial support for deserving OU women stu-

dents who have been nominated by their colleges.

Last year we awarded eight scholarships and we

hope to do the same this school year. Our main

fundraising event is March 26 followed by attend-

ance at Legally Blonde, an outstanding OU musi-

cal performance.

I hope that you will come and join us at as many

events and interest groups as you can.
