AUGUST 2018 The Messenger VOLUME 61 NO. 08 Pastor - Dr. Eric Spano SUNDAY WORSHIP at MPBC: Sunday School Life Groups: 9:30am Worship Service: 10:45am Dear MPBC family and friends, It has been a whirlwind of a summer here at MPBC in light of all our camps, mission trips, and events. But what a great work God is doing in the life of our church. Our Liberty team just returned and experienced God working and moving in great ways. I cant wait to hear their testimonies along with the testimonies of our Standing Rock team on August 12 th during our morning worship service. As most of you know, school is starting earlier this year, so that means we will be starting our Fall schedule a little earlier as well. On Wednesday August 29 th MPBC will kick off our Fall schedule with: Adult series entitled: The Seven Arrows. This study is intended to help us understand, study, and apply Gods word to our lives and experience the transformation it brings. Gen 246 youth group will resume worship together. Childrens Choir will be kicking off on this night. Pre-school Choir will also be starting on this night. Make sure you mark your calendars and get involved with what is happening at MPBC. Here are some urgent and important matters for which we as a church need to be praying: Pray for our Strategic Vision leadership team as they work hard at developing ways to present the Vision Story to MPBC as a whole. Pray for the Associate Pastor Search Team as they begin the process of praying and searching for this important position in the life of our church. Pray for our Nominating Committee as they work hard at trying to find the right people for the right places of service in the life of our church. Pray for your lost, unchurched, de-churched friends, family members, neighbors, and acquaintances. God has given us a Vision to reach our community and it begins in prayer. Pray for our missionaries—the six-pack of Cokes. And pray for the lostness of the nations as we look to plan an international mission trip later this year and into 2019. I am excited to announce that on September 2 nd , we will begin our Fall worship schedule with a series entitled Big Truths from Little Books. We will spend several weeks this Fall studying the smaller, often overlooked books in the Bible. Make sure you bring your Bible to church as we study Gods word together! Peace be with you all, Pastor Eric

SUNDAY WORSHIP at MPBC:

Sunday School Life Groups: 9:30am Worship Service: 10:45am

Dear MPBC family and friends,

It has been a whirlwind of a summer here at MPBC in light of all our camps, mission trips, and events. But what a great work God is doing in the life of our church. Our Liberty team just returned and experienced God working and moving in great ways. I can’t wait to hear their testimonies along with the testimonies of our Standing Rock team on August 12th during our morning worship service. As most of you know, school is starting earlier this year, so that means we will be starting our Fall schedule a little earlier as well. On Wednesday August 29th MPBC will kick off our Fall schedule with: Adult series entitled: The Seven Arrows. This study is intended to help us understand, study, and apply God’s word to our lives and experience the transformation it brings. Gen 246 youth group will resume worship together. Children’s Choir will be kicking off on this night. Pre-school Choir will also be starting on this night. Make sure you mark your calendars and get involved with what is happening at MPBC.

Here are some urgent and important matters for which we as a church need to be praying: Pray for our Strategic Vision leadership team as they work hard at developing ways to present

the Vision Story to MPBC as a whole. Pray for the Associate Pastor Search Team as they begin the process of praying and searching

for this important position in the life of our church. Pray for our Nominating Committee as they work hard at trying to find the right people for the

right places of service in the life of our church. Pray for your lost, unchurched, de-churched friends, family members, neighbors, and

acquaintances. God has given us a Vision to reach our community and it begins in prayer. Pray for our missionaries—the six-pack of Cokes. And pray for the lostness of the nations as

we look to plan an international mission trip later this year and into 2019.

I am excited to announce that on September 2nd, we will begin our Fall worship schedule with a series entitled Big Truths from Little Books. We will spend several weeks this Fall studying the smaller, often overlooked books in the Bible. Make sure you bring your Bible to church as we study God’s word together!

Peace be with you all, Pastor Eric

“Backpack Program” Make a difference in the

life of a child.

This is our 7th year partnering with area churches to fill backpack weekly with 12 different food items for needy children at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School.

We weekly provide 2 items, Chef Boyardee and Pop Tarts. We run solely on donations! (We have enough cash donations committed monthly to take care of the Pop Tarts. Our greatest donation need is the Chef Boyardee beef item.

Here are ways in which to participate in this ministry:

• Pray for the children receiving backpacks.

• Food donations (See Pat or Libby for the quantity you want to donate)

• Cash donations that will be used only to pur-chase the needed food items for the Backpack program. Cash donations can be one time or monthly. (See Pat or Libby)

“If you give you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken to-gether to make room for more and running over. “ Luke 6:38 We are now taking donations for the August 23rd distribution
