It is a wonderful thing to have the Word of God in your native tongue. e Gospel Truth is now being distributed in seven di erent languages. is is the rst month it has been translated into the Indian language of Malayalam by Bro. Biju Varghese and associates. Sis. Lenée Sorrell, who continues to work for Africa Mission & Beyond, has begun to assist Sis. René with the paging up of the foreign translations.

We appreciate your prayers and support of this expanding work. We are looking to the Lord not only to provide the temporal resources for this ministry but also to continue to give inspiration and direction in the writing, publication, and distribution of the paper.

Pray that these Gospel truths will be a “savour of life unto life”. ■

It was deeply moving to receive texts in the night from Malawi/Mozambique that saints had died due to hunger. Hundreds of saints throughout the country were going to bed at night, having had little to no food to eat. Because the numbers of people are so great, Africa Mission & Beyond was incapable of assisting everyone. We are very thankful for all of you who sacri ced to assist our brethren in need. e most desperate families were helped this year. e people are now eating of the new harvest. In addition to two revival meetings, our desire is to help the people learn better farming methods. ere is an international organization that teaches agricultural techniques in Malawi.

We are scheduled to attend this training and we plan to sponsor ve farmers from the congregations in Malawi and Mozambique to attend as well. Our desire is to see them acquire knowledge to meet the farming challenges. e Church of God in Pakistan extend their greetings to the saints in the United States. is month they are planning outreach gospel meetings to share the love of Jesus Christ. ey are continuing to wait and hope for the government to allow them to register under the name “Church of God.”

It is currently hot and dusty in the small village where there is a small congregation and Christian school. God has been blessing them and they have been enjoying the new classroom. In the heat of the summer, the children desire to have a cool drink of water. An electric water cooler with a 50 liter tank with three drinking tabs to serve the many children is available for purchase. Africa Mission & Beyond plans to assign some of the donated funds from the Monark Mission Concession to this project. ■

Lord willing, René and I will be leaving on August 23 to attend the National Camp Meeting in Nigeria. We will lay over in Dubai where we will visit our son and possibly meet with a few Christian Indian brethren who live in the Middle

East. We will then y on to Nigeria which we have not visited for een years.

ere remains a hunger for gospel literature in this country, and AMB continues to support the printing of gospel literature in Nigeria to be distributed. We appreciate your prayers for safety and for the anointing and leadership of the Holy Spirit. ■

CALAMITIES AND ILLNESSDuring the month of May, a storm burned up the pump

for the water well leaving the orphanage dependent on the piped water from the Chinese. As a result, a number of children at the orphanage contracted typhoid and cholera and subsequently an outbreak of measles. Sis. Rhoda also fell ill. Bro. Peter spent many nights at the orphanage praying through the night with the sick children and fasted for days with no food or water. He is a man of faith and this has been his practice for years. e strain eventually took a toll on his body and he entered a prolonged season of illness. He su ered a severe heart attack and was bedfast for almost a month. We are very thankful that he is now able to resume some of his duties. Please keep him in continued prayer.DROUGHT DRIES CROP ON THE STALK

prices of groceries have doubled or tripled and some rationing is in place. At the Huruma school, many borders and community children have had to go home because they did not have money for fees. Some other private schools are having to shut down right now.HURUMA PRIMARY SCHOOL PLAN

e planning stage of the primary school construction project began in July. An architect has been hired and funds supplied to pay for the many di erent government approvals.

Shortly, we will be receiving bids for the building project. e government is pressing hard for new classrooms as many of the old ones are in a very dilapidated, unsanitary condition. While we do not have funds to build the whole school, we may have enough to build two or three classrooms to begin. ■

MARCH 2017 TRIP TO DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGOIn the spring of this year, the Lord opened the way to make a trip to a new

mission eld in the DRC. Bro. Jose lives in the city of Lubumbashi. He has received the Gospel Truth paper for a few years and requested us to make a visit to share more truth with them. While there are areas in the DRC that are unsafe due to militias etc., Lubumbashi proved to be safe and I had no major problems other than attempted shakedowns at the airport which is typical in many countries. God gave protection while I was there and I had a spiritually pro table visit.BIBLE STUDIES AND PREACHING SERVICES

Bro. Jose works with three congregations in the area, all of which are from a Pentecostal background. During the week I was there, we had opportunity to have multiple Bible studies with a group of ministers in the mornings for three days. ere were ministers in attendance from other churches in the area who had been invited to attend the meetings. Much truth was discussed and studied; some of it being completely new to the hearers. In the evenings, we had evangelistic preaching services with the congregations. We thank God for those who sought the Lord in prayer and for those who had a hunger for truth. In DRC, most of the people speak French and Swahili. So, as I preached, I had two translators. One brother translated from English to French, and then another brother translated from French to Swahili. MODE OF WORSHIP

e mode of worship was very African Pentecostal in nature. In one particular service, when the instruments were quiet, a young man led the congregation in a beautiful song in which you could feel the anointing of the Lord come down. I thank God for the anointing and presence of the Holy Spirit that not only leads and directs but manifests His presence.

e young man who translated for me recently graduated from the university. He was a Catholic his entire life until the past year. He began asking questions of the priest and comparing with the Word of God. Eventually, he le the Catholic church in pursuit of greater truth. A er the messages, he would ask me about the scriptures and would study that night at home. I am praying that God will lead this young man in all truth and use him for the cause of the gospel.FOLLOWUP REPORT

e pastor wrote the following: “As far as the congregation is concerned, we discuss each week the truths of

God and we accepted this truth that you had brought us through the Bible which is the Word of God….I am very happy to know you and I pray God to walk with you together in this message of truth and that I go to announce it openly. I will you for the advice and the teaching of truth and that we are always together so that I learn.”

Please continue to pray for this new eld that the seeds of truth will germinate, grow, and bring forth much fruit. ■

Kenya/Uganda MeetingsStrengthening the Brethren

Reading the Gospel Truth in Swahili

First Service of the Meeting

Congregation at Busia

Fellowship at Bro. Jacktone’s home

Aer leaving DRC, I ew back to Nairobi. I proceeded to y to the city of Kisumu, Kenya where I met Bro. Peter and other brethren. We drove three hours to Busia, which is a town on the Kenya/Uganda border.

In a rural area outside of town, we arrived at a mud chapel where the people were worshipping outside. e minister of this congregation had attended meetings in Stellah for the last two years. He was inspired by the truth that he heard and had invited us to come hold a meeting. Bro. Peter had visited them previously and had a blessed meeting with them. While we only had three days in this particular location, it was full of teaching and preaching. Ministers came from other areas in Kenya and from Uganda. Services began at 10:00 a.m. and ended around 4:00 p.m., with a lunch break.

e pastor has stood by himself for many years, not joining the religious organizations around because they were not compatible with the simple teaching of the Word. While receiving opposition, he stood true to the Lord. While I didn’t see the usual number of children in attendance, there is a large group of good young men who have a desire to follow Christ. Another minister came from Uganda who le the Seventh Day Adventists a few years ago. He had been through their seminary and had position and standing in that group, but again, the Spirit was faithful. e Lord showed him areas of doctrine that were in error with the Bible, so he le. He has continued ministering in Uganda. He was very receptive and in agreement with the truth that was shared during the meeting. I pray that God will continue to bless in these new contacts and that the gospel will go forward in power and anointing.

I told the pastors not to accept anything because I said it. “You don’t know me. You don’t know my life. Measure everything I say by the Word of God. If it is truth, accept it.” It is such a blessing not to stand on the doctrines of man or on the edicts of a ministerial counsel. is is God’s truth and it stands strong, independent of me, the ministers, the USA, etc. It was so refreshing to nd people who were not only excited about truth but teaching much of the same truth. ere were some people in attendance that are culturally bound up in polygamy etc. Please pray for God to lead and direct them in these mixed-up situations in which they nd themselves. ere were many invitations given to come share the Word in Uganda and in Kenya.

Aer leaving Busia, we traveled back to Kisumu where we had a service with the Church of God congregation there. e congregation is growing but is facing a challenge. A few years ago, aer holding outreach meetings there, we helped them build a temporary chapel on loaned land. e owner is now selling the land and the congregation must leave. Please pray that the Lord will provide them a new place to worship.

Saturday night, we arrived at Huruma aer travelling through heavy rains and ooded roads. Sunday morning, the covered area was full of people for service. ere were over two hundred students, the local congregation, and many ministers from the Church of God from other areas of Kenya in attendance. I had opportunity to attend to orphanage and school business in addition to visiting the orphanage at Kuria.

We are thankful for the growing work in Kenya. ere are many needs, temporal and spiritual, but it is wonderful to see what God is doing. ■

GHANA CAMP MEETINGBro. Naths-Igbanibo, his wife, and Bro. Chinedu

traveled to Ghana from Nigeria to spiritually support the Ghana camp meeting this year in April. e ministers met for four days of Bible study before the three-day camp meeting commenced. e services were challenging and a blessing to those in attendance. Bro. Igbanibo became very weak due to the long journey and poor health. AMB in conjunction with the German brethren made it possible for the Nigerian team to return by plane.

ere are many needs in the Ghana work. Please pray that God will spiritually qualify and direct in the leadership of the various congregations.GHANA WATER WELL

e hand dug well at the mission house in Ghana has been going dry. During the recent camp meeting, the children had to go elsewhere to fetch water to meet all the needs of the camp. A deep water well was necessary to ensure sucient water. e water table had dropped to the extent that machinery was needed to drill a well.

Contributions to this oce enabled funds to be sent to dig a deep water well. ank you for your sacrice! ■

Greetings to you in the name of our endearing Lord. I want to report to you of the grace God accorded us through Christ in taking the gospel to Abalama community on 26th through 30th April 2017. is took place ve days aer our arrival from the Ghana trip. I feel so indebted to the Lord and so happy that He enabled me and my wife to go and labour in the eld with the brethren.

Over 20 years ago, this town was visited with the gospel by late father Bro. Benson Taylor from Tombia, then accessible by speed boat only. Some of us were with him in the team. Today the accessibility to the town is made easier by road. is made it easier for Port-Harcourt and Tombia to embark on the outreach. Two brethren from Kwale in the persons of Anapuwa and Josiah joined in the work. Earlier, on the 8th to 10th December, 2016, some of us from Port-Harcourt and some brethren from Tombia had joined brethren in Kwale and Ellu congregations for a similar exercise in Ozoro a semi-urban town about 30km from Kwale. It was a fruitful labour with few souls confessing Christ as Lord. e church has started there, though with initial teething problems of a place of worship and somebody answering the call to pastor the ock. But

God is taking care of all these issues and the church is gaining ground, giving us great joy. Our joy became greater with the success recorded at Abalama.

e outpouring of the truth was felt and people acknowledged the dierence. A number of persons seeking help from God through Jesus Christ came forth all the days of our stay there. Out of the number, three souls were with us on Sunday service. A place was secured for worship on Sundays and other weekly activities.

e church was formally inaugurated on 9th May 2017. A couple stationed near the town is taking charge of the activities of the church ensuring that only the truth we have been taught is maintained in that eld. Brethren from Port-Harcourt and Tombia are always fellowshipping with them on Sundays. e Lord is adding more souls. Some who on account of their jobs le Port-Harcourt are returning home to Zion. e song books are distributed in a limited quantity which we shall increase as time goes on. Some pamphlets and Gospel Truth magazines are reprinted and shared to them. Prayers continue to ascend to bless the seed planted there and bring increase in these elds. Remember them in your prayers. ■
