FAITH IN THE OVERCOMER
I John 5:4-5 “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world__ our faith. Who is it who overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” These two verses say that we have overcome the world if we are born of God by believing that Jesus is the Son of God. Faith is having confidence in the one who has overcome the world to be our overcomer. A little child may whimper and cry with fear in the darkness of his bedroom until a parent steps in the room. The presence of the parent calms the child’s fears because he believes the parent can and will overcome even the monsters of the night. Jesus has proven Himself to be the overcomer when He defied death, Rome, a large stone and a cohort of soldiers by coming out of the grave alive. He is the one who has given us life , not just a ticket to heaven but a ticket that grants us entrance into His power and presence daily. Paul Tripp says, “Discouragement focuses more on the broken glories of creation than it does on the restoring glories of God’s character, presence and promises.” As we see the world expressing the evil of its master, we are called to faithfully believe in the one who is the overcomer. God is never surprised, upstaged, out smarted, or subject to anyone or anything that is evil. In our day the character, presence and promises of God are greater than the evil and brokenness of our world. It is our faith in THE ONE that will quiet our anxious hearts. Blessings and love, Ann

Fall 2015 Bible Studies Tuesday PM
IMPACT Women’s Mentoring Training
Taught by Connie Cohn & Linda Hydrick
This training is designed for current and would-be mentors. IMPACT Women’s Mentoring is built on the biblical principles in Titus 2 which
encourage one-on-one relationships among women. God takes His Word and our life experiences to encourage women to run the race with endurance.
It is gratifying to watch God change women as we mentor them…and He changes us too!
You do not have to be ultra-equipped to serve as a mentor. God uses ordinary women who are growing in their relationship with Christ to come alongside younger women. Come join our team of mentors and experience the joy of
pouring into those coming behind us.

TAIWAN
On June 28th a Short Term Mission team left for Taiwan. Pastor Li from Grace Church in Kaohsiung asked us to come and hold an English camp for his community and to teach the women from the Titus 2 Woman study. The team consisted of Ann Little, Terri O’Banon, Phuong Ngo, Linda Hudspeth, Naomi Duncan, Cheryl Guillory, Carolyn Harris, Linda Clark, Brandon Hembree, Amanda Goss, Melissa Glenn and Joe Calfee. Taiwan is a mountainous island surrounded by water with white and black sand beaches. Taiwan’s religious environment is characterized by diversity and tolerance with the main religion being Buddhism. There were about 30-‐35 kids who came to the English camp sponsored by Grace Church.. We had a mixture of unbelievers and believers. The kids brought their parents and friends to the closing ceremony where they sang “Silent Night and “He Arose” in English and shared the story of The First Thanksgiving. One of the girls who came the first day of camp did not want to be there, yet she came back each day. She told one of the leaders, “I came back because I wanted to know why you help one another and seem so happy. The ladies who came to the Titus 2 Woman study came in the evening from 7-‐10 after working all day. The women shared that they learned the importance of forgiveness and how to live a godly life. Special thanks goes to Codi and Jack Albertin who provided materials and training for the English camp and Rita He who translated the materials for us. In addition we thank Meredith Hull who made our nametags and to all who supported us through prayer and finances. The seeds that were planted are waiting to be watered and harvested in the days and weeks to come. Please pray for the staff at Grace Church as they continue their ministry of serving Kaohsiung, particularly the youth.

WHAT BIBLE STUDY MEANS TO ME – 2015 Anonymous I feel like I know God better – it all makes sense to me now. Anonymous I am learning how to pray better. It’s so much more important than I realized even after being in church most of my life. Anonymous I can now help other people get stronger in their faith – following simple steps of discipleship. Anonymous I realize I do have my own personal story of my faith, I just didn’t know how to put it together & share it with others. From Ann Little Bible study affords me the opportunity to have others speak into my life through their insights and observations of the Word in addition to my own personal study. Both His Word and the community of believers are essential for me to follow Jesus. From Pat Rigsby It is truly one of the greatest joys of my life – the reading, studying, preparing and sharing with others about just how getting into the mind of God through His Word can strengthen my heart & change my life. The beauty of His revealed truth was meant to be shared. From Deb Squiers We grow as we experience community with other believers. Whether a woman is leading the discussion, coming with her Bible study prepared, or new to the whole experience of studying the Bible, the Lord uses His Word, and the words of other women in the group to bring conviction, challenge, and hope. It’s a blessing to study the Word with others. Anonymous B – Blessing upon blessing I – Increasing knowledge of the Bible B – Building friendships L – Life-changing encounters with God E – Encouragement from godly class leaders S – Safe place to share what God is teaching me T – Time to pray together in a group of 3-4 class members U – Understanding principles of Christian living D – Discipline of staying in the Word Y – Young women and not-so-young women studying and sharing God’s Word together From Brenda Harmon At the time this Bible study started, I was hungry for Bible study and deeper relationships with sisters in Christ. God was gracious and fulfilled both desires. I have had the opportunity to study the tabernacle of old and the coming tabernacle and how it applies to me now, to rejoice in God’s continual pursuit of me and to enter into the holy of holies and commune with Him more intimately. I have had the wonderful opportunity to pray, cry and rejoice with precious Christian women as we have studied and fellowshipped together over these months. I am thrilled to continue the friendships over the summer and hopefully in future studies. Our leader has been an incredible mentor and teacher and I so respect and admire her passion and love. The whole package has been a wonderful experience and I am so grateful to have been able to participate this year!!
