*ATTENTION YOUNG ADULTS
(18-30s)*
( Happy Hour for Young Adults)
Sacred Heart is offering a new
opportunity for young adults to
pray together, worship together,
and hang out together. We call this new venture
P3. Beginning this Wednesday August 21, and
continuing on the third Wednesday of each month,
please join other young adults for Mass at 7pm, Ad-
oration and Confession at 7:30pm, a meditation by
Father Bob at 7:50pm and finally, a late Happy
Hour at the Greene Turtle at 8:30pm.
CONFESSION AND SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
AVAIALBLE ON FRIDAYS. Fr. Bob and I will both be
available in the church on Fridays between the hours of 3:00
-6:00 PM.
During these three hours, we will be available to hear con-
fessions, and without an appointment, receive spiritual direc-
tion. I only ask that you be aware of other people in line and
keep the time to no more than 15 minutes.
I hope this new opportunity will give you the chance to have
your spiritual questions answered and to get closer to the
Lord through a more frequent use of the sacrament.
A NEW AND EXCITING MUSICAL opportunity awaits
you!! In keeping with Fr. Larry’s plan to make our church
more beautiful, we would also like to invite you to audition
for our new St. Michael the Archangel Choir. We are look-
ing for people with a musical background or musical expe-
rience that can give their time to God in song and worship.
This choir will sing at the Noon Mass and will be separate
from our other choirs we already have in place. We will be
holding auditions the week of August 27 – 30. For the au-
dition, please plan to perform one prepared piece of music
and to do some singing from the hymnal. For questions or
to set up an audition, please contact the parish office at 301
-934-2261.

GUARDIAN ANGELS NEEDED
Matthew 25:35 “ For I was hungry and you
gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a
stranger and you welcomed me. “
The Angels' Watch Shelter Ministry at Sacred Heart
Church is looking for new members. We are in need of volun-
teers to help provide meals for the Angels' Watch Shelter now
located in Waldorf. Teams are assigned one month a year to
prepare a meal and deliver it to the shelter on the first Friday
of that month.
Sacred Heart Church volunteers have been involved in
this ministry since July 1989. We are very much in need of
new members willing to devote one day a year to feed those
in need. We are inviting you to join our volunteers team
and make a significant contribution to help those less fortu-
nate and to grow in your relationship with Christ.
Christ. “If we are to be godly people, then, we must also
seek to feed the hungry.”

or just would like more information, please contact: Linda
