LET YOUR KINGDOM COMEBob Kauflin © 2006 Sovereign Grace Praise (Admin. by EMI Christian Music Publishing)

Your glorious cause O God Engages our hearts

May Jesus Christ be known Wherever we are

We ask not for ourselves, but for Your renown The cross has saved us so we pray

Your kingdom come

Let Your kingdom come Let Your will be done

So that everyone might know Your Name Let Your song be heard everywhere on earth

Till Your sovereign work on earth is done Let Your kingdom come

Give us Your strength O God And courage to speak

Perform Your wondrous deeds Through those who are weak

Lord use us as You want, whatever the test By grace we’ll preach Your Gospel

Till our dying breath (Chorus)

RESPONSIVE READING, PSALM 33:1-12*Bold to be read by congregation

L: Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.

P: Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!

L: Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

P: For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.

L: He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

P: By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

L: He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses.

P: Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!

L: For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

P: The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.

L: The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.

ALL: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

BEHOLD OUR GODJonathan Baird, Meghan Baird, Ryan Baird, and Stephon Altrogge

Who has held the oceans in His hands? Who has numbered every grain of sand?

Kings and nations tremble at His voice All creation rises to rejoice

Behold our God, seated on His throne, come let us adore Him Behold our King, nothing can compare, come let us adore Him

Who has given counsel to the Lord? Who can question any of His words?

Who can teach the One who knows all things? Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds? (Chorus)

Who has felt the nails upon His hands Bearing all the guilt of sinful man? God eternal, humbled to the grave

Jesus, Savior, risen now to reign (Chorus)

(Men) You will reign forever (Women) Let Your glory fill the earth (6X)

Behold our God, seated on His throne, come let us adore Him Behold our King, nothing can compare, come let us adore Him

JOHN 1:14, 16-18

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. For from his fullness we have all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

LIVING HOPEBrian Johnson | Phil Wickham © Phil Wickham Music

(Fair Trade Music Publishing [c/o Essential Music Publishing LLC])

How great the chasm that lay between us How high the mountain I could not climb

In desperation I turned to heaven And spoke Your name into the night

Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness Tore through the shadows of my soul The work is finished the end is written

Jesus Christ my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy? What heart could fathom such boundless grace?

The God of ages stepped down from glory To wear my sin and bear my shame The cross has spoken I am forgiven The King of kings calls me His own Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever

Jesus Christ my living hope

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free! Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me!

You have broken every chain There’s salvation in Your name

Jesus Christ my living hope

Then came the morning that sealed the promise Your buried body began to breathe Out of the silence the Roaring Lion

Declared the grave has no claim on me(Repeat)

Jesus Yours is the victory (Chorus)

SPEAK O LORDKeith Getty, Stuart Townend. © 2005 Thankyou Music (Admin. by EMI Christian Music Publishing)

Speak O Lord as we come to You To receive the food of Your Holy Word

Take Your truth plant it deep in us Shape and fashion us in Your likeness

That the light of Christ might be seen today In our acts of love and our deeds of faith

Speak O Lord and fulfill in us All Your purposes for Your glory

Teach us Lord full obedience Holy reverence true humility

Test our thoughts and our attitudes In the radiance of Your purity

Cause our faith to rise Cause our eyes to see Your majestic love and authority

Words of power that can never fail Let their truth prevail over unbelief

Speak O Lord and renew our minds Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us

Truths unchanged from the dawn of time That will echo down through eternity

And by grace we’ll stand on Your promises And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us

Speak O Lord till Your church is built And the earth is filled with Your glory

Preparing Our hearts for the word

1 THESSALONIANS 2:13-20

13 And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. 14 For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, 15 who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind 16 by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But wrath has come upon them at last! 17 But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face, 18 because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us. 19 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? 20 For you are our glory and joy.

WHATE’ER MY GOD ORDAINS IS RIGHTSamuel Rodigast (1675) |Catherine Winkworth (1865 translation) |

Keith Getty | Matthew Merker © Words: Public Domain, Music: 2018 Getty Music Publishing

Whate’er my God ordains is right His holy will abideth I will be still whate’er He does And follow where He guideth

He is my God though dark my road He holds me that I shall not fall And so to Him I leave it all, And so to Him I leave it all

Whate’er my God ordains is right He never will deceive me He leads me by the proper path I know He will not leave me

I take content what He has sent His hand can turn my griefs away And patiently I wait His day, And patiently I wait His day

Whate’er my God ordains is right Though now this cup in drinking May bitter seem to my faint heart I take it all unshrinking

My God is true each morn anew Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart And pain and sorrow shall depart, And pain and sorrow shall depart

Whate’er my God ordains is right Here shall my stand be taken Though sorrow, need or death be mine Yet I am not forsaken

*My Father’s care is round me there He holds me that I shall not fall And so to Him I leave it all, And so to Him I leave it all

SERVING HOPE AND OUR COMMUNITY

Nursery Update: We have resumed nursery services! As a result of Covid-19, there are a few changes to the way our nursery will operate: • Children and workers will have their temperatures scanned before entry. Children

will not be permitted to enter if they have a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, or if they exhibit any other symptoms of Covid-19.

• Masks are required for all volunteers while serving in the nursery. • Snacks will not be provided to children during nursery. • Toys will be sanitized from week to week.

Children's Church Update: Children's Church will resume at a later date. We need volunteers! If you have any interest in serving in our nursery or teaching Children's Church for ages 3-5, please contact Kathleen Kirkham at 757-377-9641 or [email protected].

Women's Conference Update: Sadly, we have postponed the Hope Women's Conference due to our current circumstances. Our goal was to offer women Biblical teaching, but also an avenue for community outreach, encouraging fellowship, singing, connection over a meal, all while offering childcare. In order to hold the event in September we would face some significant limitations. Our speaker, Hannah Anderson, plans to join us in the future...we will reschedule the conference as soon as we are able!

CRAIG POHLChile

The COVID-19 situation is improving slowly in Chile. We are still under a government-mandated strict stay-at-home order. However, a key prayer request would be for

health and safety as we travel to the states from August 7-27 to take our oldest daughter, Karis, to Covenant College where she will be a freshman this Fall. Pray for good, grace-filled transitions for Karis and the family as we venture into this new stage of life. Lord willing, we will be returning to Chile on August 27 to continue our ministry.
