– Base Camp being established near the Lakeland LSA (USFS)– SAR primary search to be completed PM today including barrier islands– LEA establishing rotational plan with local and state agencies for
personnel– Fatality count: 13– EPA overflight showed minimal impact to hazmat facilities (Polk to
Charlotte)
• Unmet Needs –– Comfort needs for responders; establish better communications with
local authorities
• Future Operations –– Reassess current deployments; personnel replacement / backfill

multiple sites– Comfort stations open in the following counties: (5) Charlotte
County; (2) DeSoto, (1) Polk, and (1) Hardee– Shelters still open: 21 (2200 occupancy)– Trucks with water and ice are arriving LSA #1 at Lakeland
Airport– 7 trucks of food are at the LSA waiting for deployment and
120,000 meals have been delivered to various sites– Matching registered volunteers with needs in impacted areas– Developing a list of churches that will house volunteers– Establishing ongoing animal treatment and sheltering in
Charlotte County– Staging resources at LSAs (1 and 2)
