Principal's Message OUR Cancel Culture!
When you were spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were not free from the power of your sinful self, God made you alive with Christ, and He forgave all our sins. He canceled the debt, which listed all the rules we failed to follow. He took away that record with its rules and nailed it to the cross. God stripped the spiritual
rulers and powers of their authority. With the cross, He won the victory and showed the world that they were powerless.
Colossians 2:13‐15
In these times, the term "cancel" has certainly become a four letter word! Hasn't it? The many cancellations due to COVID‐19 have created so much disappointment and distress for so many. At this point it is impossible to calculate the total amount of damage, in all of its forms, that has been inflicted on people directly and indirectly in this cancellation culture in which we have been all been living. "Cancel Culture" has become an upsetting and harmful term in and of itself as well. In the court of public opinion, if a person expresses an opinion or point of view outside of
what is deemed to be the appropriate, conventional, and/ or prevailing wisdom, the demand from many in society (especially on social media) is that they not only retract their statement and apologize, but that they also be fired, closed, and essentially eliminated. The goal being that these folks be cancelled from popular culture. Scary stuff in a democratic society, for sure! And, then there's Jesus and those who follow HIM! For Christians, "cancel" is among the most powerful and beautiful words we will ever here! On Calvary's Cross, "He canceled the debt, which listed all the rules we failed to follow." We were dead to sin, worthy
only of death and defeat. At that very moment in our lives, Jesus Christ chose to crawl up on The Cross and be killed. "With that cross, He won the victory and showed the world that they were powerless." The most amazing victory has been forever won on our behalf! The sweetest taste of His freely given and freely received gift is ours to forever savor! We will fail. We will sin. We will choose things of the world over those of The Lord. As sinners, ours is a life of repentance. As the children of The Heavenly Father, covered in
the Waters of our Baptism, ours is also a life of forgiveness and redemption! Forever forgiven to follow Him! "God has made you alive with Christ!" Nothing can ever cancel that! Amen!

Re-Opening Plan 2020-2021 School Year
Greetings in the name of Christ!! Below please find a link to "The ML Re‐opening Plan for the 20‐21 School Year." The quick summary is that we will be opening up as a full school with face to face instruction five days per week. We are thankful for the involvement and guidance of the Greendale Health Department around our face to face plan and are super excited to get back to working directly with all of our students! Please continue to pray for all people and institutions that continue to be impacted by COVID‐19 and all schools as they begin the next school year.
This re‐opening plan contains many of the elements of the original LHSAGM plan distributed previously. And, it now has been populated with plans and adjustments unique to ML. E.g. how we will be conducting events like chapel, lunch, face masks, etc. There is a lot of information here, for sure! So, please read this through carefully and
completely. After having done so, if you have questions, need for clarifications, etc. please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly and we can get the answers together. Along those same lines, if after reading the plan, you are interested in exploring with usa different plan unique to the needs of your family, please let us know that sooner than later as well. As we do routinely with students and families who have the need for adjustments of various kinds for various reasons, we will do our very best to serve you and meet your needs. Just send me an e‐mail and we can start that exploration process. Here is the link to "The ML Re‐opening Plan for 20‐21: ML Re‐Opening Plan 2020‐2021 School Year
Please reach out to me directly with questions, etc. about the plan or any other topics around the start of the year. Thank you for your partnership in making the learning experience here at ML a successful one for everyone! Please continue to keep the ML community in your prayers as we start the new year. Please pray also that The Lord's Healing Hand be and abide with His children in these days and all the days of our lives!
Christ's peace,
Dr. Wayne E. Jensen Principal

2020-2021 Title 1 Services Dear Parents & Guardians: Our school has a new provider of Title I services for the upcoming school year. Mainstream Development Educational Group (Mainstream) has been approved by MPS and the school's leadership to provide educational services to your child. Title I is a federally‐funded program developed to help schools improve the reading and math levels of students. This additional funding is being used to provide additional resources to enhance your student's success in high school and beyond.
By providing additional support in reading and math, students will receive a stronger foundation in core skills from state‐certified teachers whose efforts will be of great benefit
to your student as they prepare to take the SAT and ACT test to prepare to enter college ‐ as well as prepare them for the workforce upon graduation. Mainstream is a Milwaukee‐based educational company that has been in existence since 2004, providing K‐12 students with the tools they need to succeed in school. Mainstream works in partnership with our school's teachers and administrators to supplement and reinforce the lessons your student is receiving in class. The majority of students who work with Mainstream during the school year average a six‐month to one‐year academic gain.
Mainstream will work with our school to do the following:
Assess your student's current level of proficiency in reading and math Address areas of need as well as enhance areas of strength Provide college readiness and ACT test content and strategy support Provide reports on the progress of your student each semester
o Work with your student's teachers to improve comprehension & proficiency in core subjects
o Provide one‐on‐one, and small group instruction four to five times per week (for high school credit in English). In addition, time will be added after school this year for Title I math lab.
o Provide practical advice and strategies you can use to support your student's educational and career goals
Please note that we are living in unprecedented times as we develop the best methods and strategies to provide effective instruction in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic. We are working very closely with Mainstream to develop alternative methods to support you, and your student's educational needs should we have to continue instruction online for an extended period of time. Mainstream is well‐suited for providing instruction in a virtual environment. They use a web‐based curriculum called Edgenuity which is currently being used in classrooms in other urban districts serving non‐public school students throughout the country. While we do not yet know how schools will be reconfigured in the fall, the school and Mainstream are prepared to provide services in either a traditional manner or online. Please feel free to contact the school for more information about our Title I program.
In addition, Title I will be offering math and writing lab to support summer school students this coming July. Students who are eligible to receive services (criteria based upon residency and academic performance) will be receiving a consent from via mail and emailin the following days. If you have any questions please contact Jessi Wittig at [email protected].

Student Emergency Fund
Over 30 million Americans lost their job in the past 6 weeks due to COVID‐19 with more than 3.9
million filing for unemployment. We understand some of these numbers are faces of people in our
LHSAGM family. Our relationships with our families are important so we have implemented a plan to
help those affected by a job loss or decrease in income.
We are grateful to announce that the LHSAGM Foundation has launched a Student Emergency
Fund. This fund will give tuition relief to current and new LHSAGM families who are significantly
affected by COVID‐19 for the 2020‐21 school year. If you are a family in need of emergency
funds, please reach out to your admissions director to start a conversation.
If you are blessed to be in a position to help, please prayerfully consider donating to the Student
Emergency Fund today. You will directly help families in need.
Regardless of your situation, please continue to keep us and those significantly affected in your prayers
as we rely on our Christian community to come through this together.
Sincerely,
Cole Braun, CEO
