The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, the March on Washington, or The Great March on
Washington, was held in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, August 28, 1963. The purpose of the march
was to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African Americans.
At the march, Martin Luther King Jr., standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial, delivered his historic
‘I Have a Dream’ speech in which he called for an end to racism.
The March on Washington was organized by A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin, who built an alliance
of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations that came together under the banner of ‘jobs and freedom’.
Estimates of the number of participants varied from 200,000 to 300,000; the most widely cited estimate
is 250,000 people. Observers estimated that 75–80% of the marchers were black. The march was one of
the largest political rallies for human rights in United States history.
The March on Washington is credited with helping to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and preceded the
Selma Voting Rights Movement which led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The 1963 March was an important part of the rapidly expanding Civil Rights Movement, which involved
demonstrations and nonviolent direct action across the United States. 1963 also marked the 100th
anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation by Abraham Lincoln. Members of The
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Southern Christian
Leadership Conference put aside their differences and came together for the march. Many whites
and blacks also came together in the urgency for change in the nation.

MINI has released a pair of exclusive detail design sketches as an early preview of the brand’s first fully-
electric production model, which is set to make its debut in 2019. The first sketches of the production
model coincides with the MINI Electric Concept making its UK debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018.
Following on from the MINI E pilot project exactly ten years ago and the MINI Cooper S E Countryman
ALL4 plug-in hybrid model on sale since 2017, the first fully-electric MINI represents the next stage in the
electrification of the MINI brand and reflects the BMW Group’s NUMBER ONE > NEXT strategy.
“MINI is an urban brand and the fully-electric MINI the logical next step into the future,” says Oliver
Heilmer, Head of MINI Design. “These initial sketches for the fully electrified MINI outline our vision of
authentic design creating a bridge between the history of the brand and its electric future.”
Combining the past and the future.
The sketches show the car’s grille. Its hexagonal form is a signature MINI design element, but the closed-
off interpretation is all new. Behind the grille, cooling elements are conspicuous by their absence – which
means the grille can stay closed and therefore improve airflow. A yellow accent bar with an E badge in the
same color produces a powerful contrasting effect and identifies this as an electric MINI.
The second sketch shows the striking wheel design of the fully-electric MINI, which has been carried over
from the MINI Electric Concept – unveiled for the first time last year – into the production model. The
wheels take the motif of the accent bar on the radiator grille and add their own asymmetrical twist.

The BMW Group announced the development
of a battery electric MINI production vehicle in
July 2017.
The first of these large-scale produced MINIs
with battery-electric drivetrains will be available
from 2019 – exactly 60 years after the launch of
the classic Mini.
This model will ensure that electro-mobility is
delivered in a way unique to the MINI brand with
driving fun, style and individualization at its core.
The electric drivetrain will be built at the BMW
Group’s e-mobility centre at Plants Dingolfing
and Landshut in Bavaria before being integrated
into the car at Plant Oxford, which is the main
production location for the MINI 3-Door Hatch.

In the golden era of Reggae, it was said that the music reflected strong messages of Rastafari and was the
sound of the ghetto, as it, often referenced the dilapidation of the sufferer’s environment.
Being the son of Veteran Recording Artist Donovan Joseph and the cousin to the crown prince of Reggae
Dennis Brown, Autarchii, is adamant about continuing the mission of Reggae’s golden era. His lyrics and
melodies seem to be fiery and educational at the same time.
Autarchii has had the pleasure to be a mentee of the late legendary Wayne ‘Sleng Teng’ Smith, who taught
him many ins and outs of the music Industry at the tender age of 17.
The name ‘Autarchii’ is a depiction of ‘autarchy,’ which means absolute rule or power. It was officially
placed on him by his cousin, who believed that his revolutionary approach to the music would make
him inextinguishable.
2017 saw Autarchii releasing his debut album entitled ‘Land of the Free’, which was distributed by VPAL
Music. Reggae Vibes Magazine, a Netherlands based Magazine said “listening to Autarchii’s first full-
fledged album is a mind-blowing experience”.
The prowess of this ever growing artist led him to open concerts for numerous amount of Veterans such
as: Horace Andy, Inner Circle, Anthony B and The Mighty Diamonds. He was also a key vocalist on the
‘Roots and Reality’ EP released by Bent Backs Records, for which he recorded the song ‘Shashamane
Living’ with Fari Difuture. Roots and Reality EP debuted at number 2 on the charts in Japan.

an award from Reggae Xclusive Magazine,
acknowledging him as the ‘New Voice in Reggae’.
He is most known for the song entitled ‘Grow’,
which was originally done by his father in the
early 90’s. Autarchii recently teamed up with
Dub Rockers Label (A subsidiary of VP Records)
to release a follow-up single entitled ‘Cure My
Pain’ on the ‘High Society Reggae’ compilation,
which is a seductive marijuana love song that
personifies the plant and educates the masses
about its healing benefits.
Additional to all the success that Autarchii has
reaped thus far, he plans to release a free project
called ‘Red A Red I-tape’ in Fall 2018. The young
roots artist also urges his supporters to look out
for his sophomore album some time in 2019.

Born and raised in London, JAEL is a Singer, Songwriter, and Wordsmith, who is often likened to Asa,
Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse. Not constrained to one genre - her main areas of focus are
Neo-Soul, RnB, Jazz and Gospel (what she calls ‘Conscious Music’).
Her love of music and passion for singing began at the age of 5 and since then, she has endeavored to
develop into a well-versed and rounded musician. Poetically fusing sounds and words from both her life in
London and her deep-rooted African heritage, JAEL has been performing at shows, vocal sheds and events
frequently.
She has gained recognition nationally and internationally with her single, ‘Fire Dey’, which many say is
‘reminiscent of Fela Kuti and his timeless Afrobeat vibes’. JAEL is writing songs for herself as well as other
artists and is heavily involved in the production and arrangement of all of her music.
Jael graduated with a First Class degree from the London College of Music; she continues to write, sing
and collaborate with other musicians. Combining evocative lyrics with atmospheric vibes, she is set to

Meet Wagner Bagão... a musician, producer, DJ and sound engineer. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, he spent
much of his life dedicating himself to sound engineering in concerts and music production in the studio.
But as a producer, he felt the need to explore his creative side so he started to compose using a laptop
and various softwares of digital production. From his experiences with Reggae, Jamaican Dub, Hip Hop´s
urban culture and Brazilian music, he came up with the project Dubalizer which presents nuances, sound
trips with psychedelic textures, dancing beats and heavy bass.
‘Revolução Amplificada’ is the name of Dubalizer’s latest mixtape. This mixtape includes songs which aims
to elevate the collective consciousness through sonority, reflecting a great variety of styles, ideas and
collaborations with many singers and instrumentalists. The idea behind the mixtape is to revolutionize
the urban language by means of a sound where reggae and dub merge with other styles and are amplified
and driven by the ‘Sound Systems’. There are 21 songs featuring lyrics that deal with topics such as black
woman empowerment; spiritual enlightenment through meditation allied with the practice of attitudes
that propagate and bring peace from inside to outside; the liberation of Palestine; and the union between
the social classes which are some of the strong, important and current themes that are discussed within
this new mixtape. Dubalizer and his partners go beyond the norm that permeates Brazilian popular music
and show us a conscious fun but without moralism or dogma, so important nowadays and with no social,
racial or gender segregation.
Dubalizer has toured with bands Nação Zumbi, Marcelo Yuka, Ponto de Equilíbrio, Leões de Israel, SOJA
(USA), Groundation (USA), Abssynians (Jam), Don Carlos (Jam),Clinton Fearon (JAM) & Tribo de Jah (BRA).

Growing up in The UK Q No Genre’s family home was always buzzing with different types of music. His
family heritage is Jamaican so reggae was always the first choice and usually the last.
Q grew up listening to artist such as Jimmy Cliff, Gregory Isaac, Dennis Brown and John Holt. “I remember
those legends filling the atmosphere with good vibes, when Mum was cooking in the kitchen”.
Q’s Godfather is Shaun Escoffery and in his teenaged years he spent time with him in the studio. It was
around that time that he started listening to other artists such as Black Coffee, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers,
Craig David & Jamiroquai to name a few. Q stated in his last interview “Looking back, it was probably
during those years when I realized my musical taste encompassed more than one genre.
As a result of Q’s musical experiences, a natural progression to writing songs of many genres was devel-
oped. Rather than choosing a particular genre to focus on, Q believed that his talent should not be restrict-
ed in this way and ‘No Genre’ was born in 2013.
In 2017, Q performed at Europe’s largest reggae festival in Spain, Rototom Reggae SunSplash. This gave Q
the confirmation that music was the ONLY thing for him. Q is currently working on his debut EP entitled
‘No Genre vol 1’ the feature single ‘Only’ debuted on 07/08/18 (UK) available on Apple Music, Spotify,
Google Music and all other major platforms.

David Anderson, stage name Jameik King, began pursuing music at the early age of 12 years old in his
hometown of Morant Bay in St. Thomas, Jamaica. King’s music can be described as authentic reggae music
with positivity at the forefront.
Influenced and mentored by international recording artist Tarrus Riley, and his older brother Markland
Chong (aka Japanese) as part of the Blaksoil family of artists, Jameik King has developed a passion for
reggae music.
In 2011 he released the single ‘Hold Me Close’ produced by Russian of Head Concussion Records. The
single helped to propel King’s career, opening the door for several other named producers to recognize
his talent. Soon after he released singles such as ‘Paradise’ and ‘Taking Over’ produced by Big 12 Records.
Both singles were successful in their own rite, receiving airplay both locally and internationally, with
‘Paradise’ charting at number one for two weeks in Connecticut, USA.
In 2014 Jameik King was signed by Flydie Wise Production, a record label based in St. Thomas, Jamaica
and the United Kingdom owned by Garthfield Whyte and Jarrell Edwards. Through the label, King released
‘One Step’ on the ‘New Step Rhythm’ which showed a positive side to the young artiste. ‘One Step’ made it
to the top of several local charts on mainstream and underground in Jamaica. Through these successes

Friends Concert (2017); Gt Extravaganza (2017); Reggae For Life (2017); and Portmore Festival (2017.

Empress Nelly is an Indie Artist and Songwriter, whose style smoothly fuses elements of Roots & Culture,
Dancehall, Reggae, RNB/Neo-Soul to form a melodic fusion of positive and empowering vibes.
Empress Nelly (Janelle Prince) was born in 1982 in St Louis Mo, USA. Empress Nelly’s music is not only
uplifting and empowering but is also engaging and passionate about what we go through as people in
today’s society.
For Empress Nelly, her journey into the exciting world of music began at the age of 3 as she was heavily
influenced by her parents’ musical performances throughout her childhood. Their love for music was
passed down to her, especially as her mother has been an R&B vocalist for over 25 years while her dad has
played the bass guitar and other musical instruments for over 30 years. Both still perform and tour today.
At the age of 3, Empress Nelly began to mimic the way her parents performed on stage in return; this
inspired her to tap into her natural born talent as a musician and vocalist. Some of Empress Nelly’s other
musical influences have come from Artists such as Anita Baker, Queen Afrika, Nina Simone, Bob Marley,
Maxwell, Dezarie, Sister Carol, Lisa Fischer, Jill Scott, India Arie, Lauryn Hill and Angela Winbush.
On March 17, 2015, Empress Nelly officially released her first single ‘Longing for You’. Since then, she has
also released a few more singles including her latest ‘Out of Control’. She is currently hard at work in the
studio recording a few more new songs which would complete the line up on her first Extended Play (EP).
Empress Nelly is also planning some promotional activities in the Summer/Fall of 2018 following the
