The BriefThe school were looking to replace seven interactive white boards in2012, and the Head Teacher, Mike Hull wanted to look at newertechnologies including touch screens. The school approached UniversalAV for proposals and demonstrations on the latest innovativeinteractive classroom technologies. The solution also had to be suitableto work in the Reception Class environment as that would be the firstphase of the installation.

The Solution

Universal AV arranged a demonstration of theCTouch screen with the Head and the Reception class teacher. AndrewCooper, Rossendale Branch Manager at UniversalAV believed that the CTouch would be perfect,however, wanted to assess the schools truerequirements. The demonstration indicated thatalthough the screen and functionality was perfectto meet with their needs, the lack of wall space inthe class meant it would need to be mounted ona height adjustable trolley.

Mike Hull and the teacher were pleased with theproduct and confirmed that the CTouch was the route they wanted to go down. Universal AV quotedto provide the solution. This was accepted andinstallation was planned for early September 2012.

Installation

The installation was completed as scheduled andwas followed up four days later with a furtherdemonstration to the entire teaching staff, whichconfirmed all would like a CTouch in their classroom.However due to flooding in the school monies had tobe allocated elsewhere but thanks to some additionalfunding a second screen was wall mounted in the ICTSuite at the beginning of December.

Phase 2

The installation of the screens has received such a positive reaction from teachers that the schoolcontacted Universal AV at the beginning of 2013 to fit a further two screens with a plan to purchasethe remaining screens in the new financial year.Mr Hull gave the following comment on the CTouch,“It is very rare that you see a group of teachers sogenuinely excited about a piece of equipment thathelps with their teaching. It is one of the best itemsI have purchased within a School.”
