answering the questionnaire. It could also enable us to draw connections

between their answers. The majority of those who answered our

questionnaire were 15-16. Nearly all of this demographic put comedy as

one of the genres they typically find appealing. (36% of all answers were

comedy). Heavily contrasting to genres such as Action, Thriller and

Horror, which are regarded to appeal to more mature audiences.

-use of text (e.g. you think you know someone)Also the use- use of institutional information and reviews from newspapers

    no:

    - too much information was revealed

Interestingly, out of the small number of those who didnt notice a change in mood within

the trailer, all were aged 15-16.. Also, none of them like to typically watch thriller films.

This could suggest that this particular age group may have more difficulty than older age

groups in recognising changes in the mood within trailers and/or they have difficulty

recognising the change of mood within this genre due to their genre preferences.

-Out of the 6 people that said they wouldnt go to see this film, 5 of them said that they more or

less understood the basic plot. This contrasts to the 16 who said they would definitely go to see

the film; with 11 saying they fully understood the basic plot. This could suggest that the more of

understanding you have of the basic plot of the film, the more likely you are to go and see the

    film.

The whole idea of a trailer, is that you want to give the audience enough information for them to

decide whether this film interests them, but not too much, so that you are able to intrigue them into

wanting to know more. Therefore, this question was vital into finding out how effective our trailer

was. Those who answered with Too little or Too much were more inclined to say that they

would either not see this film or would consider it. ( 64% answered with either no or they would

consider seeing the film. Whereas those who said they believe the correct amount of information

was revealed mostly said they they would definitely go to see this film. (75% saying they would

    definitely see the film)

-out of the 8 people that said no,6 of them do not usually go to

    watch films within the thriller

genre. This could suggest they are

perhaps not fully aware of the

codes and conventions of a thriller

    film poster.

    Common answers when asked why

    Yes:

    - the genre of the film is well portrayed, especially through elements such as the tagline- both link well to the film, with a few saying the film poster linked to the film more so than the magazine cover

    - The use of dull colours and the font style

    No:

    - they didnt get the same idea of the storyline from the magazine cover as they did the film

    - they felt the film poster was more effective than the magazine cover

60% of those who said the trailer was too short, said they either wouldnt see the film or

would just consider it. Whereas 40 % that said they would. This heavily contrasts to those

who believe the trailer was the correct length, as 67% said they would definitely see the

film and 33% saying the either wouldnt, or would consider seeing the film. This provesthat the audiences views on the length of the trailer can heavily influence their decision

on whether or not they want to see the film.

    turning point more prominent

    - more intensity

    - not to give away as much information, more cliff hangers
