Meadowlark Mingle Auction Catalog
The Meadowlark Mingle is Meadowlark School's first PTSA event aimed at bringing
the community together to experience our school and to enjoy food, festivities, and
fun with neighbors as the school culminates its first year - a year during which
everything was a FIRST!
The auction team has worked super hard soliciting donations from businesses
across the community! We also couldn't have brought you such amazing baskets and
items without the generosity of each of you in the school community. Thank you for
your donations!! In addition, the students of Meadowlark have created some
AMAZING art pieces and we can't wait to see who will get to take those home.
Our goal is that a portion of the funds raised by this event will be used to further
develop Meadowlark's five maker spaces: Electronics and Robotics, Woodworking,
Culinary, Prototyping and Art. Here is a letter from Principal Caldwell describing
some of the things that PTSA funds could be used for in support of Meadowlark's
Maker Culture.

Welcome to the Meadowlark Mingle Silent Auction! We’re really excited to host our first annual community carnival and fundraiser! This fun community event will help support our maker spaces, and it will give us an opportunity to enjoy some food and fun with our school families and community neighbors! Fundraisers like the Mingle help us fulfill our school's mission and vision!

Auction Rules & Procedures There is something for everyone and every budget in the auction. Should you choose to participate, bid on what you like. The idea is to walk away with some amazing items and raise money for Meadowlark.
The auction will be available online for seven days prior to the Mingle. During the Mingle, we will transfer the highest bid to the LIVE event and bidding will continue there. Amazing Author Experience Jennifer Chambliss Bertman is the author of the New York Times bestselling mysteries Book Scavenger and The Unbreakable Code (Christy Ottaviano Books/Henry Holt for Young Readers). Anderson Farms Four admissions to Fall Festival at Anderson Farms and four small sized pumpkins to be used during the 2018 season.
The Anderson Farms story begins in 1911 when Swedish emigrants August and Josephine Anderson purchased a farm south of Mead, Colorado. They lived there with their four children, Albert, Mildred, Edwin and Laurine. August and Josephine died when the children were young, so Albert and Edwin took over the farm. Over the years they grew corn, sugar beets, barley, alfalfa, wheat and in the 1930’s began raising cattle. Edwin married Louise Johnson, a Longmont farming native, in 1946. Her father, Emil Johnson, was also a Swedish emigrant. Emil and his wife Esther spent many years farming near Highway 287 and Lookout Road south of Longmont.

Renaissance Adventures Sword Skirmish Event Renaissance Adventures Sword Skirmishes are one-hour events where up to 20 participants ages 6-12 take part in a series of foam sword games such as medieval capture the flag. One of our staff comes to your location. A large space is needed to play these exciting games, such as a public park or a school gym. If you schedule an outdoor skirmish during winter or wet months, it is okay to cancel and reschedule if the weather looks inclement. 1 – 2 Learning Community Fall Rain Barrels These rain barrels were a result of the 1 – 2 Learning Community’s changing weather project. The problem that students were presented with was "how can we help others prepare for changing weather?" This group of 1 – 2 LC students chose the direction of water conservation and determined that people should begin to save water in the wetter seasons to help prepare them for drought or less precipitation in the summer months. The rain barrels are uniquely designed and painted to be one of the four seasons and one is designed to represent the water cycle. These brightly colored masterpieces have all of the necessary components of a functioning rain barrel. The barrels are “unfinished” in that the purchaser will decide which side of their house they would like to position the rain barrel, and with the included supplies and directions, the owner will add a downspout diverter and the water from the gutter will be able to fill the barrel. The water will not be potable to human consumption, but the included spigot allows for easy attachment of a hose for watering lawns and gardens.

5 – 8 Learning Community Splatter Canvases The 5 – 8 Learning Community learned about action painting and famous artist Jackson Pollock. Each class created their own collaborative action painting on 4 separate large canvases. Students used acrylic paint, and spray paint and took turns painting, splattering and layering the canvas with color. This was a fun collaborative project.

In 1979, two professors at the University of Colorado started Boulder Beer Company, Colorado’s First Craft Brewery. At that time there were only 42 other operating breweries in the country!
