The centrally located AUB campus, which anchors the Hamra neighborhood of Beirut, provides easy access to all of this—and much more. You can hike the Lebanon Mountain Trail, visit one of the oldest cedar forests in the world in Bsharre, and explore the Jeita Caverns. If it’s the sea that inspires you, you’re in luck. The Corniche that runs along the Mediterranean for miles is just steps from the AUB campus. There are also many archaeological treasures scattered throughout the country such as the ruins at Baalbeck, Tell el- Burak in Beirut, and the Temple of Eshmun northeast of Sidon. A teaching-centered research university, AUB has around 800 instructional faculty and a student body of around 8,000 students. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, life-long learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership. AUB currently offers more than 130 programs leading to the bachelor’s, master’s, MD, and PhD degrees. The University became coeducational in 1922; its student body is 50 percent male and 50 percent female. The language of instruction is English (except for courses in the Arabic Department and other language courses). Located in Ras Beirut, AUB’s main campus has a total of 64 buildings. The 60.9 acre (246,459 square meter) campus overlooking the Mediterranean Sea includes athletic fields, private beach, bird sanctuary, and a repository of native and non-native trees and shrubs.

General InformationProgram OverviewThe purpose of the IAP-AD 2020 Congress is to offer up-to-dateknowledge on contemporary topics in pathology, provide aplatform for theoretical reflections and cross-cultural interchange, and encourage creative & innovative research that would ultimately enhance the understanding of pathological processes and human disease, and contribute to improved healthcare. More than 35 internationally recognized pathologists and scientists will share their knowledge and expertise in interactive formats.

Pre-congress Workshop A one day molecular pathology workshop will preceed the symposium.

ObjectivesThe objectives of this congress are to:• Offer up-to-date knowledge on contemporary topics in

pathology. • Provide a scientific platform for exchange of knowledge to

improve targeted healthcare.• Encourage creative and innovative research for gaps in

understanding pathological processes and human disease.
