This half day tourshowcases the incredible diversity of scenery at Portland’s doorstep.We travel to Multnomah Falls along the river level route of the Lewis andClark expedition and enjoy the unfolding panorama including RoosterRock, Cape Horn, and Mist Falls, all sightsfirst noted by the famous explorers over 200years ago. Continuing to the Bonneville FishHatchery and Bonneville Dam and fishladders, a national historic site in the heartof the Gorge, we pass Beacon Rock, amassive monolith. Then it is on to the historicVista House. Descending through the famoushighway loops we travel past sights includingSheppards Dell and iconic basalt rockformations formed over thousands of years.As we return to Portlandyou enjoy the views alongthe “River of the West”,the Mighty Columbia.
