Values lay the foundation for the understanding of attitudes and motivation because they influence our perceptions.
Individuals enter organizations with notions of what is right and wrong with which they interpret behaviors or outcomes.
Values generally influence attitudes and behavior.

1. Contribute to the shared meaning in the organization.
2. Binds people together as a community.
3. Provides people with a common language.
4. Tell people how to behave to achieve the organization’s vision.
5. Contribute to organization’s vitality and performance.
6. Values should represents the culture of the business. It’s okay to be competitive and profit driven.

TWO STEP PROCESS1. The first step in creating values alignment is to find out what the values
of employees are.
2. The second step is to find out how employees perceive the values of their organization.

CONCLUSION Attitude have traditionally been described as a process in which we
logically calculate our feelings toward the attitude object based on an analysis of our beliefs. Thus, beliefs predict behavior. But this traditional perspective overlooks on attitudes and behavior.
Values are ideals of an individual personal importance.
However, to be successful in an organization, managers need to learn adopted values, a set of values that are part of the organization’s culture.
